No, it isn't a 'dismissive bully tactic' and the attempts to present legitimate concerns as such are becoming tiresome. Once again, I am going to point out what is actually being stated. Viera men have already been described as tall by official sources and as such the attempts to push for them to be shorter for no real reason other than appease a niche crowd is needlessly combative. Especially when there's needless baggage tacked on in the form of buzzwords. As for the shorter races being the most played? That is completely subjective. I've seen a lot more taller characters around now that the game has become more mainstream. Furthermore, it isn't necessarily a case of shorter characters being more popular - it just so happens that Midlanders have the most customisation in terms of potential facial features whereas Highlander men lack authentic eyebrows and Xaela/Raen cannot combine different horns with different faces.P.S. Stop equating people that want a short character to wanting to play a child. It's a dismissive bully tactic to shut down others because you can't seem to understand that the shorter races are also the most played races. If the female viera were shorter there would be SOOO many more of them everywhere.
If you want more customisation, push for that. Don't hijack a race described as 'tall' and demand that it is made to be short instead.
As for why people keep associating child-like characters with short characters...take a look at the original post in this very thread and note that the OP has persistently clung to child-like references to describe the build he and certain others are pushing for throughout this thread. You can't expect people not to associate such things with one another when people are literally coming into the thread and stating that they want something even shorter, more feminine and more androgynous than the current options - because that does enter territory that is described as 'child-like'.
I don't doubt that the people pushing for such things are well aware of that fact, however - they simply know they cannot outright state it due to Yoshi-P's stance on the matter. As such, they're trying to push the boundaries as close to it as possible and lash out whenever they're called out.
Once again, Yoshi-P had to make an official statement outlining why child-like viera would not happen. It's not rocket science. Some posters are simply trying to get around that by pushing for them to be as feminine, androgynous and short as possible - even at the detriment of those of us who just want them to be implemented as they are described. The people pushing for them to be short do not actually care about viera at all. They're simply attempting to hijack the cause for their own gain.

Yes, I did. Hence the "as opposed to".

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Oh Theodric here we go again.
One, I don't want Viera males to be short. I want them to be the same height as the ladies but the witch hunt you put against people that do is so annoying that it makes me have to say something every now and again.
The people that wanted to play a child are not all the people that wanted to play a short character just like the people that wanted to play a more feminine male aren't the same people that want short characters. They may over lap but they aren't all the same. Trying to put them all in one group and label them all as suspect is completely a bully tactic.
There is a difference between child and short and I don't see how you don't get that. Yoshi literally plays a lala dude so he clearly like shorter models. You can make a character be short and not look like a child.
Second, I have NEVER see any lore stating that the males were tall. They said they were fierce warriors that lived off the land. They could still but shorter for that to happen.
Finally, they have a census out for the most played races midlanders and miqo'te are the largest group that isn't subjective.
That census is out of date. I'm not aware of whether luckybancho's site has readily available racial breakdowns, but the Census website is out of date, and besides, Theodric's entire point is that it's down to other design issues with the taller races and not the mere fact that the more frequently played ones are "short".

@dustdjinn
You have a short race for what you want.
Viera is a tall race
Note: They won't do Au ra's demorphism ever again. That was just a lizard / (asian thing, they like super short women over there since that's how most asian women are like).
