There's been multiple talk about female Hrothgar as well as male Viera - both on the source and in the first. I'm hopeful, but not too much.

On one hand I would really like to see Female Hrothgar and Male Viera just for the sake of more variety and I know it would make people happy. Yet at the same time, going on "Lore" I suppose I can also see it. Yet again at the same time it doesn't really line up when you consider they do exist and this isn't (at least to my knowledge as I have yet to do the Ivalice Raids) 100% in line so it would give them some freedom to expand. We already have an idea of how female Hrothgar could look from X/X-2 and male Viera the mock up idea looks good to me.

The "Lore" excuse seems lazy in my eyes, i mean its its own game, just because its based on it not means they can change it, they even did that once already, Miqo'te were female only and Rhogadyn were male only, forgot if in 1.0 or in FFXI.

It is its own game for god same, YOU and your TEAM make the lore Yoshida, if i want continuity with other games i play the same franchise with its sequel that depend on each, Final Fantasy never was this, each game was its own thing, for god sake we getting a Nier Automata Raid, how is that "Lore" friendly to bring in even if you explain it as best you can.

Anyway, i came in here to throw my support again. Seeing these cool female viera in the MSQ really makes me want some male ones. Same with the female Hrothgar.

Showing my support again. I already made another thread gushing over lady vieras and how I'm jealous, haha. I've come to love seeing them around so much that it just makes me excited about the prospect of playable male viera (naive, I know!).


Originally, I was just going to fantasia my alt because I like my male miqo'te, but the viera grew on me a lot so if male viera do become a thing, I'll buy a fantasia for my main. It's expensive to make a new race, but considering how many people would buy fantasias would be good for business, right? I'm not savvy in that field, though, so I couldn't say.

Male Viera are referred as Watchers and they protect a female Viera from 2 monsters
afterwards the female Viera runs and screams again protected by the unseen male Viera before you and another female Viera show up to help her.

Yes male Viera exist on the 1st and no they don't so much as fire a shot within your presence it probably be his way until they want to reveal them, if they do.

Personally, I wanted male Viera, but now that I am a Hrothgar I am happier than ever. I have yet to see any Hrothgar or Viera that look alike. Everyone is making the most of the limited customization and creating truly unique and colorful characters. Also, I've noticed the Hrothgar can wear way more headgear pieces than Viera.
