I was thinking that too. Because I noticed the "Mystel" have a very different naming convention compared to Miqo'te. I'd like to see a bigger list because I liked the Mystel names way more than Miqo'tes in general. There aren't even regular naming conventions up (although interestingly, some Viera surnames are the names of towns in previous Ivalice games, so they probably use their hometown as a surname?). My theory is that we're getting the full races of the first + Viera/Hrothgar conventions at the same time and that's why it's taking so long.
<.< Uriangers body type is desirable. I don't recall elezen male arms being that buff? Just slap a male viera head on that and I'd be happy. Getting closer to the Viera woodland! If I see anything i'll be sure to update.
As an add on, female Viera are not nearly as imposing in height as most folks were expecting them to be. I see no reason why the males shouldn't be of the same height. They're not that tall.
Elezen have always have been that buff. No one bothers to actually look at them though.<.< Uriangers body type is desirable. I don't recall elezen male arms being that buff? As for male Viera on the First...
I have not been through the side quests nor did I talk to many of the Viis in Rak'tika, but from I have seen they did not even act as male Viis existed. Which seems incredibly odd given the situation on the First.
I've done all the side quests and not a peep.
That's what I've been saying about elezen. Especially their biceps.
This is odd, what the heck happened... Did they all die, are the males' considered something else entirely? Seeing as we were told we'd hear about their way of life etc and more lore I'd at least expect something, a nibble, on what is going on there. Were there any Viera children by chance?
If there was an option to add a muscle slider onto that then I'd be happy enough to play as that body type - more so since they won't have the elongated neck.
If male Viera are out on their own in the woods, wouldn't it make more sense for their lore to be tied to fates more than to village sidequests though?
I'm 73 (took a detour because I had to do MSQ as DNC, damnit!) so can't say much but the lack of information on male Viera isn't surprising. When we got Yoshi's statement, the 5.0 storyline must have already been written and recorded, and it's a lot of work to get so much as a quest done (recall Koji's statement about how he's wanted a quest or something similar to introduce the Lore about the Eighty Sins of Sasamo). As much as it pains me, the missing genders are low on their 5.0 release priorities (and there was still a typo in one of the DNC quests). Soonest I expect a tease about mViera/fHroth is 5.1, honestly.
it's very sad we didn't have at least one mention about the missing genders (I didn't looked the spoilers here on this topic). I'm very curious to see how the male vieras look like. This mistery I though we would discovered with this expansion, but this genderlock "betraied me"
I haven't gotten super far in the story, but why exactly would they need to mention male viera at all in the expansion? It's a different world where the races have literally been scattered to a select few holdouts from the flood of light.. Not to mention anything said would be about a completely different race technically. I just don't think it's that important at all.
The male viera are probably all sin eaters now!![]()
