Only if it's as NPCs and not as potential playable races. If the latter, then it just causes story issues to arise (why and how did someone from the First come to the Source before all this travel stuff became common knowledge to the players character?).That's actually a good...plot hole - for lack of a better word. "mViera" and "fHrothgar" might be rare, but mVii and fRonso may not. Maybe they'd be able to jump to the source somehow as new allies, just like Ukelele* did.
*I call him Ukelele because I can't ever remember his name, the white robed kid that unlocks the warring triad quests.
Same as why would Yugiri hide her face in fear Eorzea would freak out at the sight of an Au ra....while talking to an Au ra /shrug
And even though it's non canon, they could use the same excuse as the FFXIV x FFXV crossover did - randomly being spirited away by some portal.
nope. By a charr situation I mean that I want the females to look just as strongYou can't really have a Charr thing going.
The Charr are as much animal as they are man, their bodies don't have the same shapes as us. They don't have human like sexualdimorphism because they look so far removed from human.
Female Charr don't have to deal with human breast for example, they're just horn cat monsters like the dudes.
I find it very odd you bring this up so often, you either don't realize what you're asking for or don't care about Female Hrothgar and just want them to slap small boobs on the men and be done with it cause that's faster than making a new female body shape...
That's a little different. Au Ra exist on the Source. Vii and Ronso do not... but Viera and Hrothgar do. I've already placed a reason on how male Viera could potentially be playable, however it would mean we can never have the Golmore Jungle be a place we can explore (not that we would/could anyway. Again, lore reasons). The how they could be playable then becomes a players decision.Same as why would Yugiri hide her face in fear Eorzea would freak out at the sight of an Au ra....while talking to an Au ra /shrug

- Born outside of the jungle.
- Managed to survive leaving the jungle.
- Lore shmore I'm a dinosaur.
It also makes things less confusing for new players, who may or may not know that Vii = the Viera of the First (which would also be a spoiler, if they're starting from the beginning and have no idea what a First is).
I think that considering the reason why 20% of the population are catboys is so they can get stronger, there won't be any prolem making male viera playabkeThat's a little different. Also, I find it hilarious how ppl are convinced that I don't care about female hrotgarwhen I wannamake a fem hrotgar alt, and I even said that I think thye should get more resources than male viera, since they're harder to do right
I have an alt as well and still dont play it. It doesnt matter if your alt is a fem Hrothgar or not. What counts is if you are going to play one as your main and if it will be worth the development. I can say things first and act different later too.
We all read your comments multiple times, you left a bad impression by your own words.
I can be extremely mad 1 week after the male viera announcement and once things calm down change my point of view on something, like many (most, in fact) of the ppl on this thread do. I don't really get why ya'll (not directed towards u in particular) love drama against me so much, but like I said, I won't feed into itI have an alt as well and still dont play it. That's assuming that all the expansion will take place on the First, which I'm positive we wouldn't. There's still some plot threads in Garlemald, we saw Estinien with Gaius in the Launch Trailer (and it doesn't seem like they came to the First), and a shot of Count Edmund's Memoirs. Since we still have the empire to deal with, it's likely we'll go back to the Source for a lot of the MSQ post 5.0, and Yoshi-P's words implied we'd be hearing about them in 5.1 and above, because the 5.0 script should have been pretty much ready when he said that (although, given that the naming conventions for Viera and Hrothgar won't be ready until AFTER the official launch...).Viera will most likely get the hairstyles everyone has right now, but probably at a later date. Probably same day Hrothgar get more mane/face options.
So I've been thinking about lore again and what Yoshi-P has said. He said that we'll be hearing about the existence of male Viera and female Hrothgars in some shape or form, but then I got thinking... is he talking about Hrothgar and Viera? or Ronso and Vii? We're going to the First, so any lore we learn about Ronso and Vii on the First cannot be treated as Hrothgar and Viera lore (one example being that Lalafells are 'beastmen' on the First. Almaj'aa lore might be completely different, too, since they also live on the Crystarium with the other Spoken races). So even if we see a male Vii, they'll still need to figure out how to make the male Viera playable due to their lore restrictions (since SE do love to restrict themselves with their lore).
Though I suppose making the Golmore Jungle something we can never explore (keeping it as an instance zone only, like Xelphatol) might be the best bet to make them playable. Left jungle, branded as exiled, only in Jungle for short time (kill Ultima), not killed dead for being traitor to the woods.
The preview for GNB has a Hrothgar AND a Viera (which, I was very much laughing at, just let the Hroths have the full spotlight for once lol), so it's likely we'll see Hroths and Viera in the Source as well (and on that point, we're going BACK to the Source for the lvl 80 job quests so there must still be reasons for us to return to the Source post 5.0 MSQ)
I legit think hrotgar were an afterthough, and they said they were first for damage control. Fem viera just look waaaaay more polished, have more options and have like, 99% of the screentime of the new racesThat's assuming that all the expansion will take place on the First, which I'm positive we wouldn't.
