Why not check out ESO? New expansion coming out and you don't even need to sub to play the game. ^^I think that's what everyone's expecting at this point, unless the backlash makes them move it up. Yoshi saying there'll probably be no new races more or less demands that they created a loophole for themselves to get around it (instead of, oh I don't know, just not say that). But I'd like to see how they explain that lore SUDDENLY isn't a problem for male Viera.
And yet my question still remains - was it really worth the backlash they're getting right now? I can only attest to myself but I already cancelled my preorder and will not be extending my sub, which will end before Shb release. Depending on my progress with the hunting achievements, I might just cancel it even earlier than that. No, that's not the only thing I'm unsubbing over. But heck if it wasn't the final straw, and made me realize the only thing I was looking forward to in Shb that wasn't more of the same was male Viera. With that gone, I'm left with Eureka, less other content because of Eureka, limited jobs, content spreading, and a never-changing formula. The one thing that was new and fresh I was looking forward to were bunny boys.
Guess I'll be going over my steam library in the coming months.
I have much the same issues. Very little in the Fanfests so far excited me much. The new zones look interesting, but you're done with those through the course of leveling, anyway. DNC looks great but I don't particularly like ranged physical dps anyway. So I guess I'm just waiting to see what the May PLL holds, and how long ShB will retain my interest come 5.0.I think that's what everyone's expecting at this point, unless the backlash makes them move it up. Tried it and hated it. Plenty of far better single player games, anyway, that I need to finish.
Well, they saw demand for female Viera, along with bestial race - so they took path that they figured would please majority, as some people will always be "let down" on whatever they reveal.
Then add their dislike towards male Viera, so it was easy maths - they had to assign Gold Saucer -outfit for female dev(s) and it took quite a lot of time to get done. Now imagine doing whole race out of it and we'd probably need to wait next 10 years, especially since some are loudly stating that they want it to be extremely feminine looking dude, "Bishōnen"?
less sexhist things
MOAR BUNNIES FOR EVERYONE ♥
[Curls up over unplayed 3DS games like a dragon] I'll consider it
You make it sound like it's legitimate justification when it's a pathetic display of lack of professionalism at best. Also if anyone wonders why people say male Hrothgar replacing male Viera is sexist and/or homophobic, this is the core of that logic. Then add their dislike towards male Viera, so it was easy maths - they had to assign Gold Saucer -outfit for female dev(s) and it took quite a lot of time to get done. Well, we have known that for several years now and that didn't stop you from supporting them before (either).
I don't really support genderlocking either, but sometimes you just don't get everything you want straight away.

And then they gave us the bunny outfit and we all thought things would change. Proven wrong now, this is the result, and I'm kind of looking forward to all the game time that's opening up.
Don't have to keep paying them in the meanwhile.I don't really support genderlocking either, but sometimes you just don't get everything you want straight away.
Sorry for steering so far off topic y'all but I'd love the insight of a FF14 player about ESO.
ESO is the game that's on the top of my list of other MMORPGs to try. When I took a year and a half break from FF14 I was planning on trying it but then other things got prioritized. I was actually contemplating trying it regardless if I continued playing FF14. I never played the older Elder Scrolls games myself, but sat next to my brother when he was playing. But Skyrim I played myself, and it's one of my most played games. I bought it on release day 11/11/11, and I still pick it up and play it all these years later. All these years... oh, Gods now I feel old.
tl,dr Is the community friendly and helpful? Is the game much more difficult than FF14? From all the Youtube videos I've checked about it, I feel very intrigued by the exploration (which this game severely lacks) and crafting system. Not to forget the much better character creation too.
Super grateful for any info or advice you and any one else might have to give! Cheers!
Naturally, if you aren't happy with product, you don't pay for one. I've simply not purchased plenty of games over the years since I either don't like it, or their "business" model.
Few years back when I left World of Warcraft, I went to their website, cancel'd my subscription and wrote my reason in this box that you can write reasoning as why you are leaving. I didn't go and make thread on general discussion about it, I was done and left. But I take it I should follow up "community example" and write 17 micro-threads about everything that I'm currently unhappy with, maybe threaten and call names while at it.
Adding a like but I am fine with the way things are.
"But please. Call me Bae."
