Your point being?A lot of people aren't at all bothered by exposed skin, so long as it is tied to characters that look to be of legal age. I suspect some of those taking issue with the use of the word 'creepy' to describe such things are irritated that their dog whistling is being called out. MMO's attract some genuinely terrifying individuals after all, who get up to some very sinister things online!
Nevermind Ascians (we're nearer than you think, little lizardI don't know, I try not to be too judgmental about art stuff. Art is a complicated thing, some of it is going to be off-putting to people and that's okay. There is a lot of art out there that would make random people on the street uncomfortable. Like, take any of the art/design work that goes into the Silent Hill games for instance. That stuff is going to trigger a reaction of disgust in most people if they have no context or appreciation for it.
So I don't know if we can really use "what random people on the street would think" as a baseline for judging stuff. :v You're going to get a real narrow perception of what is acceptable if you do that. I mean, if you print out a picture of an ascian and showed that to random people you'd get a lot of people thinking it was something satantic.), try Au Ra.
Nonetheless, I do find some of the art pretty unappealing. I mean, Yoshi found the idea of "cute" bunny men weird - what do people think they're going to accomplish by posting such pics here? Sharing art is one thing but you get subsequent comments stating how they'd like Viera to be implemented in such a way. People can say and hope for what they like, but when the lead developer has a distaste for that specific interpretation of them, I don't quite see the point. Especially when it's then cast as him needing to "get over" his whatever -ism is concocted to explain away his dislike of Viera males on those terms. That has been thankfully rare in this thread.
As far as suggestions for potential aesthetics for Viera men are concerned, Piers Nivans from Resident Evil 6 strikes me as a character that would look great with some bunny ears tacked on:
It should be pretty obvious. With that said, I'd appreciate it if certain posters would stop going off topic and would also cease their attempts at tone policing. It isn't just the artwork that is creepy at this point, but the attempts to stamp out opposing viewpoints!
Again... There are very, VERY few people asking for those types of characters. Very few. And of those who are, you can't assume that it's for the wrong reasons. Are those people out there? Sure! But most people either expect/want something to match what we were given. Every online community attracts undesirables, not just MMOs. And most people who play MMOs (myself included) do so because they want to be an awesome character with magical powers. Sometimes that character comes in the form of a graceful dude who communes with nature and has a pair of bunny ears. It ain't that deep bruh. We just wanna have fun playing as bun bros throwing fireballs. Nothing more, nothing less. The REAL creeps have long been denounced.A lot of people aren't at all bothered by exposed skin, so long as it is tied to characters that look to be of legal age. I suspect some of those taking issue with the use of the word 'creepy' to describe such things are irritated that their dog whistling is being called out. Edit: By "we" I mean those of us in the pro-male Viera camp.

It cost them nothing to show what they like. And the team will do as they please as well.Nevermind Ascians (we're nearer than you think, little lizard), try Au Ra.

If you don't do a thing because it's "meaningless'' you won't do anything.
It won't hurt anybody to post some art ^^
Here's another excellent candidate to serve as inspiration for what the fierce defenders of the forest could look like:
Gladiolus Amicitia from FFXV would look pretty great with some bunny ears! He also has a couple of cool scars and tattoos, both of which have been frequently requested in regards to enhanced character customisation.
I think it is a bit much to assume people that want younger looking characters are all pedos. :v I mean, regardless, we already have tons of stuff that appeals to that "demographic" as is in FF XIV. You've got lalafells, min height fem au ra and miqote, the padjal who just happen to be eternal children with convenient adult mindsets.
If we're going to put a stop to content just because it might appeal to perverts there is a ton of stuff we'd need to delete from the game as is.
I was thinking more in terms of requesting them to be added in terms Yoshi found off-putting in the first place. That said, I don't think it will stop them from adding them, if they want to at this stage... but it must surely give the impression "yeah, that's exactly why we didn't consider them in the first place..."

To be fair, if I were them, and didn't want that, I couldn't care less and ignore them entierly. It's just some art on a forum.I was thinking more in terms of requesting them to be added in terms Yoshi found off-putting in the first place. Just be glad I don't have that delete button. ;pI think it is a bit much to assume people that want younger looking characters are all pedos. :v I mean, regardless, we already have tons of stuff that appeals to that "demographic" as is in FF XIV.
