Wow! I hadn't seen any female ronso art before and I love this. Bring me a male bunny and a female ronso and I'd be so torn on what to fantasia to! I have no interest in either race as they stand now. I don't even feel like logging in tbh, I'm that disappointed.+1 from me.
Male Viera and female Hrothgar should not be unavailable to play as. The lore is simply an excuse to cover up their own hangups about how males and females should be designed.
One thing we can also do is continue posting art of male Viera and female Hrothgar to show that it can be done, and that they can look just as amazing.
Signing for more options as well! SE should've learned from 1.0 that many players don't find genderlocking acceptable, and so this decision felt like a step backwards.
I truly hope they will add male Viera, and female Hrothgar, in the future. I certainly would be rolling both if they were an option!
Unfortunately this means nothing. Male miqo'te and duskwight elezen are elusive and/or rare as well in lore yet we can still play them anyway.
I support this, but also want them to add female Hrothgar even more.
It's dumb to lean on lore for the exclusion of male Viera when they themselves create the lore, but sure, it was borrowed from Matsuno so maybe he put his foot down. But Hrothgar aren't bound by this restriction in the slightest. This race didn't officially exist at all until last night so there's no reason to write the lore to restrict it.
As for the Matsuno thing, how many people would really be mad if Viera were not-Viera in the same way Hrothgar are not-Ronso? The same thematically, but not tied to pre-existing restrictions for no justifiable reason.
The whole thing is backwards, especially after they made a point of removing genderlock on 3 other races.
It's baffling.
^^^THIS^^^ the fact that they didn’t reveal this information until after the pre-orders were locked in, when they knew so many people were asking for it? That’s super shady.+1, the decision to genderlock them is completely unacceptable, especially in 2019, especially in XIV, especially revealing it only after players could redeem their items for the pre-order, making it permanent.
Support for the release of both genders for both the new races.
+1. Not only have they gender locked two entire races, but they've race-locked multiple towns with beastman tribe quests attached. At this point we can't be sure if non-lalafell can even do the Dwarf quests since none of us can enter dwarven homes... This entire reveal has been wretched.
I'm legit angry that we're going back to gender stereotypes in this game.
You realize that you changed gaming history by adding same-gender marriages, and now you're back to "men are big beasts, women are big breasts".
Let's not talk about how this new male race is basically a Roegadyn with a mask.
Signed.
Honestly if they added small, slender, cute bunnymen and big, beefy, powerful tigress women, I would not know which one to choose... I'd be buying Fantasias every other week probably xD
any questgivers in the dwarven villages will either be outside or at doors/windows so you can talk to them, itd be bad game design to put a questgiver in an unreachable area, more what theyre doing here is instead of having a bunch of copypasta huts you cant see into now they can give a different sort of lived in feel by having huts you can see into that are furnished
