Male Viera and female Hrothgar should not be unavailable to play as. The lore is simply an excuse to cover up their own hangups about how males and females should be designed.

One thing we can also do is continue posting art of male Viera and female Hrothgar to show that it can be done, and that they can look just as amazing.

They cant avoid this. If not in next fanfests, interviews, q&a live letters, this request will always come up until they implement them into the game.

I'm really disappointed. I dislike the idea of gender-locking races greatly, and would really love for Square to reconsider, and add in male Viera, and female Hrothgar.

I agree wholeheartedly. I've wanted male Viera for a while now, and I would like them to add them when they have the time and resources, even if that isn't immediately. When they first added female Viera, I assumed that if there were going to be issues with the race being female only, it would be a corporate level, financial, resource, or time-based reasoning behind it. That proved to be accurate, and I would love to see SE resolve to fix this at a later date, even if it leaves some disappointment in the immediate timeframe.

I wouldn’t play them personally, but for as long as I’ve wanted female Viera to be playable in a FF MMO I know people have been wanting to have males just as long. Globally this was requested and I would love to see them listen to their community and change their stance on the gender locked races once again like they did for Miqo’te/Roegadyn/Highlanders in 2.0 after they were locked in 1.0.
