Disheartening to see a game regress in its values like this. Genderlocking shouldn't be in FFXIV at all; the fact that these news came after ambiguous statements and ridicule directed at the players who wanted less of it is not a good look.

+1. Genderlocking in 2019 is unacceptable, and this is AFTER the fiasco over genderlocked miqo and roe, which you'd think they'd have learned from.

I wouldn't call myself disappointed cuz I have nothing but hype for the next expac, but I agree that gender-locked races feel very weird on this game!

Hopefully the devs are just taking time cuz of deadlines and the workload and if that's the case I'll look forward to the patch or expac where they'll add male vieras and female hrothgars!

Eh, I agree with most of this but people should be able to state when something makes them upset, it's kind of how square got it's reputation of good faith, by listening to the fanbase, both negative and positive feedback. I think Hrothgar looks dope, wouldn't switch to one but they look cool enough. I don't think that should disallow people to be upset though and I certainly don't think it's just "bitching" or "moaning"
