May I ask what those reasons were? There were a lot of great suggestions, and fanart that could have made it into the OP over the course of this thread, in my opinion.

I wanted to keep the edit date as close to the post date as possible for consistency. I felt that if I kept editing the post, others would not be able to tell if the original content and request of the OP was drastically changed or not. I regret editing the post in the first place - I would have preferred it to stay as some kind of untouched post. This was just one of the reasons.

The thing about height is that it doesn't change the race's visuals. It's only a character creation feature like ear shape, ear size, hair, muscle tone/ear size, etc. It's a player option, one which would not change the design of male Viera as its represented in the art or any promotional media. Female Viera covers the height slot between female Elezen and female Highlander very well; I want male Viera to cover the height slot between male Elezen and male Highlander.

Square enix should recognize that division that existed about about male Viera from the beginning.

Here's another height comparison I just found. Not exactly sure how accurate this is, but thought I'd share it anyway.

The female viera is min height apparently.

And that’s awesome and makes sense. Viera are sorta Amazon women. The are the leaders amongst their race. They wear the pants in the relationship. That should be visually represented in their size.

They are not going to be as tall as elezen or Highlander as that literally makes no sense given the females are shorter than female elezen.

Idk who needs to hear this but male viera are pretty boys not your masculine fantasy.

Tbh the only bad part about this is: miqote is already there, there's already barely any difference between min female wiera and max male miqo. Making a taller miqo with bunny ears make sense imo, but smaller than females is making miqo with bunny ears and nothing more... Just play miqote at this point lmao.

But the males are not warriors who protect the females from outside ? That's why ppl were waiting for a strong looking male, it didn't have to be extreme tbh. Pretty boys is fine but breaks the warrior part imo.

Initially, I was thinking the males would be taller by a few centimeters. After looking at some more comparisons, I'm not so sure. It's a toss up really.

Well, if the women can be pretty and be warriors, there's no reason why the men can't be, too.

They probably don't look quite so pretty when they've been out alone in the jungle for a few years, but you're not going to be meeting those ones.

don‘t agree with that. female viera and male viera have their roles in defending the forest - the males being the main defenders, living a harsh seclusive life. the females themselves live in a matriarchal society, because there are no males in the village, except the male viera children, but they get raised the same since they are indistinguishable from the female children at that time. as said before, the males are out there defending the woods, while the females stay and protect the village and raise the children.
there is no this gender dominates the opposite.

most sense would be same height, which could be explained by lore (no possible way to determine the gender until they reach puberty)
everything about females being the dominant ones, being the ones with the pants on is just fanmade headcanon lore by people - i‘m sorry.

i wouldn‘t throw a fit if they were a little smaller either. i‘d say a smaller type of body would make it more difficult to see the males as the defenders of the forest. they were never seen before as we know, and if someone saw them, they‘d be killed in the spot.
i just don‘t understand why height plays such a big role with some people. a little smaller, taller? who cares - still taller then most played races out there.
