Honestly, they faces should be a bit more gruff given the lore. Right now the faces look too similar to femViera. The animations aren't bad, looks like it's based of male Au Ra.

Congratulations to all of those who wanted this and kept hope alive. I don't think I'll be playing one, but they look pretty good and I'm glad to see them all the same!
I'm so happy that I'll be able to play as a male Viera in Endwalkers and although I wish they did female Hrothgar release at the same time, at the very least they are working on them and will be coming, when that is is anyone's guess but at least got confirmation on them as well.
I also expect the same limitations as female Viera have currently so I will be designing in game stuff around such limitations.
Bravo devs I am happy with them![]()
I'd assume there will be at least one 'rugged' face. Hopefully something along the lines of the 'dad cat' face for miqo'te men.
We might get some cool face paint and facial tattoo options as well. I don't know if viera women get any of that? Never made a female character in this game, honestly.
To me, it almost looks like they took the female Viera faces and just stuck them on male Au Ra bodies without scales.
Maybe they will look fine in armor. I'm concerned about how much their resources will be strained with another race to fit gear too, prior to that update. They have already been cutting corners, with races like miqo'te. The fact that male viera is a limited race means they don't have to fit any headgear, but still. I'm hoping they have some options like stubble. They're a blend of elezen and miqo'te, basically - which is what was stated as most likely. Decently beefy, at least - not quite the base proportions I'd have liked but good looking enough that I may consider them an option to play as once we get our hands on the benchmark.
Mostly I'm just happy that they're not designed to look extremely child-like.
With any luck the character customisation will be updated across the board at some point, but this is a good step in that direction. We're getting male viera first, then female hrothgar later on. Once both are added, the push for enhanced customisation can begin in earnest.
I've always said on here that I wouldn't play as one. I would consider making my alt one if my main was a female viera. I don't really play my alt, but having a male and female has always been fun for glamour creation. Plus I'm kind of OCD about it, and like to have my main and alt uniform in some way. The bodytype they went with looks like it won't have the same issues male au ra has, where the midsection completely ruins looks; male viera look to be more uniform.

I heard this announcement when I was in my car and almost got in a wreck because I screamed so loud.
Thank you so much for adding the male Viera!
And to those who whined endlessly about not wanting male Viera - eat my shorts.
Very nice how they retain some beauty and elegance similar to the females with a hint of fun(that dance lol). Seems like a blend of what the forums were wanting. Something tall yet youthful with an hourglass midsection that's smaller than their slanky arms. Kinda like a rabbit/hare even lol. Nowhere near as stark of a dimorphism contrast to the Au Ra though I think them being slightly smaller than females would be funny. The hairs add some swave/effeminate charm though the ears look really disconnected probably due to the coloring that can be fixed. I do wish the outfit was much skimpier but the body type can be used for skimpy glamour anyway.
I'm super stoked for male Viera.
I'm most curious about their height.
Max height for female Viera is 75.3 inches. For female Highlander, it's 73.8 and for female Elezen, 78.1.
Male Elezen max height is 82.6, and max male Highlander height is 78.8. So I'm guessing male Viera will be between that range, probably maxing at 80. something. I'l be surprised if they end up taller than male Elezen or shorter than male Highlander.
Either way, I'm so glad male Viera are being released. This is the first time we see them in a game, and it's gonna add some more diversity to the male population.
I really appreciate their slim, athletic builds. They're going to look amazing in armor. They're gracefully tall and still retain that certain elegance and mystery that the female Viera have. Pretty much the opposite of the male Hrothgar. It's exactly what we asked for.
Thank you for making male Viera!
