There's art style, and there's logical knowledge of what isn't being emphasised in the art style but is presumably still there. The ffxiv universe pants are flat on both sides male and female. There is no difference for any race. The female viera are only distinguished by their upper body development. So in this case there is no sarcasm, just an observation. I don’t care either way. I like the way male viera look. I just think this segment of the thread is silly because it’s not real life. In this universe males have no nipples either.

I wasn't aware I was "challenging the lore" to assume that the reason you can tell they're male at puberty but not before that (that much having been stated by the creator) is because that must be when they develop male anatomy. There's an actual genetic condition that causes something like that; I've linked it in previous discussions.I presume certain things are tucked in like animals in the wild and not like actual humans. The creator of the viera in 12 said they were indistinguishable. I don’t feel like the lore needs to be challenged or scrutinized in a fantasy world in order to fit the real world interpretation. That’s all. I don’t understand why it’s upsetting people to begin with.
I'm not seeing where you think I'm upset because I pointed out that just because they "look flat" doesn't mean there's nothing there. You said yourself it's the same for other races, therefore (my point in my previous post was) it's not something unique to Viera and the others must be lacking too, if you want to argue that's proof of anything.
You can't even tell under the sash and baggy pants, and they're going to be using the same models for other gear as all the other male characters.
But this is more intrusive detail than I really care to be discussing.
Still, it sounds clear to me that there's a point where nobody knows what gender the kits are, and a point where they can be identified as men and women, and it sounds to me as if that's an active confirmation and not just an eventual "failed to develop".
Until and unless we get further information, I'm assuming (based on canon, not ignoring it) that both do visibly change, and my character in particular just shrugs and says "well yeah, it was kind of weird at first but it's just what happens".
