Lore reasons aside, again, I don't think the XIV team will lock in a design for a creature that doesn't belong to them.
Female Viera are exactly as they are in Ivalice, it follows that any look the hypotetical males get would be THE Male Viera design.
There might be an exception if Akihiko Yoshida himself decides to work with the XIV team.
You're forgetting male moonkeepers were said to be territorial, extremely antisocial and preferred to remain alone in the forest, on top of male children being rarely born, and thats why male moonkeepers weren't available in 1.0.
When people are comparing viera to miqo'te lore they're doing it with moonkeepers, not the seekers that SE likes to keep as the posterchild for miqo'te.
