i think masculinity is relative, anyway. japanese masculinity and western masculinity are basically opposites of eachother. pretty ikemen is what japanese society demands of its men while physically strong men are the order of the day for western societies. i'd be happy if both were represented.

you can even see this in how the midlanders and highlanders look. male midlanders are the very embodiment of japanese masculinity whereas highlanders are the embodiment of the western concept of masculinity.

If only Highlanders had better facial options. Luckily Au Ra have the muscularity and better faces. All they need is a muscle tone slider. The game already offers a fairly large array of possible aesthetic choices so it’s not like they aren’t catered to.

I’m not convinced that the term is that relative in all its aspects but I’ll grant that it can be influenced by trends at any given time.

Right? It's my biggest pet peeve with the suggestion that we have 'enough' big races - because there's some pretty glaring flaws that turn people away from them. Myself included.

Roegadyn and Hrothgar are far too big for my liking. Elezen are almost universally criticised for their awkward proportions and animations. Raen/Xaela lack a muscle slider and the ability to mix and match base face and horn combinations. Highlander men have some glaring flaws and only two of their faces are aesthetically pleasing - and one of those faces has weird dark circles around the eyes that can't be removed. Then, of course, there's the lack of eyebrows.

So I went back to a Midlander. Which incidentally shatters the abhorrent narrative that I 'hate' the short races. My Miqo'te alt begs to differ, too.

Have you seen how tiny the male roe legs are? They look absolutely ridiculous. Try to find a male Elezen in the full set of dark knight artifact armor, helmet on. It is guaranteed to give you a good laugh. Au Ra clip like crazy no matter the horns, also they have this really weird old man face. A kind of creepy old man face option actually. Highlanders look so much like a cave man, I just can't. they do look big and manly, but nah, maybe if you could somehow find a club and leapord print underwear or something; make the T-rex your main mount. Midlander is only 5'8 at max definitely a short race, gotta get some manly height in here, make them at least 6 foot, preferably 6'2, give them some nice facial hair and some awesome hairstyles that an emo from 2008 wouldn't have.

You know, if Midlander could be the same height as Highlander I probably wouldn't complain nearly as much. And then we got the Garleans - the bloody Garleans who are a mix of everything! I'm talking about trueblood Garleans as well. We have some who have the elezen body type -- glares at Nero, another with the highlander type - I'm looking at you Cid - and those who are using the midlander body. The race that has the most body customisation/range is one that's not even playable! How is that fair!?

im looking for the "where are they now?" series once we hit page 1800

come back in 6-7 months and the objective will be complete unless male viera have alreayd been released, which is unlikely
