Generally speaking I don't add my voice to these things very often, but this one really really has my goat.
If it was an issue of time, they simply should have picked one race and given both genders saving the second race for 6.0. They also should have been upfront about it instead of playing coy and hinting at male Viera being revealed at the new fan fest.
I'm adding my signature to the idea we should have male Viera and Female Hrothgar in the 5.0 release.
This is great news !
Let us all continue voicing our support in a calm and continuous manner ^^

+1 for Male Viera.
Genderlocking anything is an antiquated system and shouldn't be acceptable when we were told it wasn't going to be a thing. I just personally feel lied to and that hasn't happened to me before in regards to SquareEnix. This one decision along with RUINING BLU and six years of no healer has me seriously questioning the design decisions or philosophy of yoshida. He knows the up-roar about the MGP bunny stuff and how hard people fought to have male characters be able to wear it so the fact the vast majority of the playerbase made their thoughts plainly clear on how most of us view genderlocked content has me still in shell shock mode that this whole situation was approved.
While the man doesn't deserve hate messages or death threats at all, people are still allowed to let him know it is totally unacceptable to go back on your word. Your word is the only thing you have in life and blatantly lying or going back on it will do nothing aside from tarnishing the hard earned image he's built up with the community. None of us should be accepting genderlocked races or "limited" jobs in FF14. You either do everything ALL the way or don't do it at all. If it "can't be implemented without breaking the game" hire better/more creative job designers because we all know BLU is no where near close to even being a competent DPS let alone "too broken to be an actual job". Every single one of these choices is unacceptable and should be immediately rectified.
SH right now as a whole after the last fanfest just feels extremely low effort and rushed over all. Roe's with cat masks do not look high quality and the game developers sacrificed male Viera for them. The bait and switch at the EU fanfest leaves a very sour taste in my mouth, he knew at that point the races were genderlocked and rather than get boo'd he purposefully withheld that information which has led to the current fan outrage. It's disingenuous of him to do that.
2019 is such a terrible year in the gaming world and sadly it seems that even the best mmo on the market cannot escape the downturn games are headed towards.
The main point here is I actually trusted yoshida and have defended him since the Viera reveal saying "no way SqaureEnix can ignore their playerbase like WoW does" and here we all are having exactly that happen. I feel lied to by someone I trusted and it like every other time someone has let me down, it feels awful.
It's not a great feeling that within the span of a month going from nothing but pure joy and excitement to disappointment and frustration because of some SERIOUSLY questionable design choices.

put my name down #bunbros

I would suggest to use this thread for future which I wrote by myself. It's written in neutral way and has few links for old topic from 2011, for JP Forum and also for interview with Yoshida. There is no words about any kind of discrimination (because I am personally sure that it's not the issue in this particular case), no words about "lets unsub", and such. I also straightly asked to not insult other people there so I hope this thread can stay calm, constructive and positive. Still, will be understandable if this and one another big thread will remain active since they were started earlier (though I find their wording a little bit wrong in way of asking for things).

Showing my support for gender equality and the lift of gender limitation on the new races
Take all of my upvotes

I would like to see male Viera in FFXIV. I understand that whatever happens is probably not going to make it into Shadowbringers, what with the launch only being several months out. I would have preferred that the FFXIV dev team focus all of their effort into making one thing well, rather than trying to do two things poorly.
The continued excuses of "not having enough resources to do X" is starting to not only become incredibly tiresome, (I'm especially reminded of the repeated apologies in the wake of 1.0) but I feel are starting to become a malignance upon the continued development of FFXIV. Please stop stealing FFXIV's devs off to other projects, and properly staff up FFXIV, and re-invest the money that the game makes back into making FFXIV better.

+1 to male bunnies. I'd especially like it if the male bunnies were a different body type than other males, such as an androgynous or slightly feminine physique to complement the hyper-feminine bunnies. It would actually fit for the species and look solid and add another interesting choice for players to choose when customizing a character.

I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said. I'm just politely adding my voice to the many others to show support!
