How come they can completely rewrite the lore for Ivalice yet for some reason male bunnies is the line they can't cross?Yeah.. because they were created for FFXIV, with it's own lore in FFXIV, so up to a certain point they can change the lore if they want to do something new with them, i believe the thing with the Viera is a bit different, i don't think you can compare these two things with each other.

i don't understand the whole lore argument. there's a section at the end of ARR where due to plot reasons you should not be able to enter uldah. but you can just go there and it's as if nothing happened.

Can't point it at the original creator either. Besides, Miqo'te are essentially a port of Mithra from FFXI, where males are also very rare.

The people who always argue "you can't because lore" never bloody read it is why. If the game stuck to its lore then you'd be extremely limited in what you could do.
Some people really need to understand definitions before they throw out 'sexist', 'homophobic' etc towards Yoshi, SE and other posters with legitimate arguments. Amazing that the female Hrothgar has hardly any threads/posts and the male Viera is plastered everywhere.

Genderlock isn't sexist, it's just stupid. It was removed in 1.0. It definitely has no place here.
Please, SE, don't take steps BACKWARDS. We want both genders for all races. Don't get weird on us now.

Gender locking anything is going agaisnt so many people working with eliminating gender specifix boxes we have in our society. Bad move on Square Enix behalf. This could a huge marketing advantage on their behalf.
Yes please to male bunnies and female lions. No rush and all, but confirmation that square aint dedicated to genderlock for "creative reasons" or "lore reasons" would be awesome.
The lore reasoning doesn't even make sense. Male Viera have less to lose and more to gain by adventuring, and leaving the forests is equally against cultural norm for the female Viera.
