I've been watching this thread for a few weeks now and like... at least they've gone from openly attacking male hrothgar and people who support them to just being indifferent about all of them now.I hate to pull a Mean Girls quote here but - oh, who am I kidding I love quoting Mean Girls!
Who here has felt as if Zeylos has directly gone against them for expressing the opinion that they weren't the biggest fans if feminine male Viera or at least their hope for male Viera was that they would be more masculine? I can't like my own post but trust and believe my hand is raised.
I don't want to ignore you. We both want to see them included I just wish you could be a bit more moderate in your more extreme views and less (I can't believe I'm the one saying this) needlessly combative.
... Hooray for character development?
If they added in an NPC first I wouldn't complain as long as they were eventually added, you know? I hope they don't go the au'ra route; the female 'tiny' debacle was super lame. Though I understand why they did it since the Azim steppe is based on Mongolian tribes where the women are petite in height, there's nothing that mentions that the male Viera should be small anyway - other than the whole 'hares in real are smaller than females' and even then, it depends on the type of rabbit.
Since male Viera are described as handsome - this is a more masculine term these days. A handsome male is more likely a man who exhibits striking masculinity - they are extremely good looking. While a feminine male is more likely to be called 'Beautiful' and 'Pretty' - not handsome. Again, this is simply down to the word 'Handsome' becoming masculine these days. Finally, elegance is tied into 'maturity', 'grace' and 'beauty' - this isn't something that is tied into femininity alone.
So the image painted of a male Viera is that which is akin to LoTR wood elves, with more muscle development. And a personality that could be described as hostile. Ice Kings in terms of emotions and extremely stoic.

Yeah, I was originally furious about the Hrothgar over male Viera, but I'm finishing an RP storyline for my old Hrothgar while waiting for the eventual release of the other genders.
I think people just needed to let the situation sink in and just look at everything.

Is anyone else just going to roll with a female model for now? I'm really loving how this guy looks and I feel that I can comfortably consider him male in headcanon. If you were hoping for a more masculine look, this probably won't do it for you, but it could be a nice holdover on the hope that male Viera models are eventually released.

I did try out the Viera and Hrothgar creation. Unfortunately, I found Viera difficult to make. I felt more like I was creating a character in IMVU more than a character in FFXIV. It gives off the feeling of "immense beauty" that requires (to me) suspension of belief and it was to me unexpectedly off putting and I was dismayed. I do hope you have fun with it regardless. Is anyone else just going to roll with a female model for now? In contrast I enjoyed Hrothgar creation and will be changing into this adorable guy.

I thought about it, but 2/3 of my glamours have male-only items (from Mog Station as well which makes the switch senseless since we can't swap them to opposite gender item with Calamity Salvager) or models that look differently on female character, so nope, I'm gonna stay in my recent shape.
voice 12 is a very manish voice
