Yes but compare them to savage raid clears. Eureka also sees a lot more use than your average high level dungeon. Although you cannot extrapolate any cost-benefit ratio from this, it does suggest it sees comparable engagement to savage mode raids.Nobody of us have the numbers for those that truly enjoy Eureka but lets not forget the lucky bancho numbers.(edit: seems that the numbers have gone up a bit but still not even 17% of the EU have reached level cap in a content way more casual than raids and even JP is still only around 30% for a group of players that are doing normally all content)
2. edit: Seemingly I overlooked the elemental level cap which is still really low, even in JP. So yeah the numbers to speak a bit of a different numbers about those that truly deeply enjoyed Eureka.
If they dont change that male hrot will be less popular than male roe 3 weeks after launch
I have played around with the benchmark a bit and really find the Hrothgar to be disappointing. Why choose fur that you are covering most of the time instead of nice hair? Also the benchmark really changed my view a bit on female Vieras. I like that they have the resting bitch face too (which my Aura character has) and the emotes that I saw look less girly...so quite surprising I might even turn my main into one..so this at the same time makes me even more sad for those that wanted male Vieras because I could see that those could be quite handsome/beautiful and honestly seeing the Hrothgar in comparsion and their restrictions, then I really wonder why we lost a whole complete race for them.
The problem is that savage raid are stuff for a niche content and often includes just four bosses with each stage that also has a normal mode. Eureka are four whole new maps, one whole new dungeon, its own leveling system, the new board thing and the logo actions. On top of that boss monsters, lots of exclusive designed stuff and the whole relic weapon...and its not much better than savage raids in terms of participation? I am not sure if that is great. (And lets not forget that we got not a single other new casual content for that)

Dear SE, once you implement male viera, please make them similar to the females rather than mountains of muscle and testosterone. Some of us are tired of the "pretty girl, stronk man" trope. Something similar to omega M would be great.
Especially since that would not be that different to the Au Ra which are already imo looking quite strange with that much difference between them.

So after playing with the Benchmark I'm loving the Viera. I might actually change into one w my remaining Fantasia, they have that "elegant wood nymph" aesthetic that I love about them, without sacrificing the aloofness that I also love about them. In short, they're about what I expected and would love to see the men.
Hroth... I like their aesthetics? I mean, I don't like that whole "hair tied to faces" deal, and the fur pattern will just get covered by pretty much every AF armor (except, I'm noticing, MNK, which is the job Hroth was featured as, and DNC, but it does get covered by GUN, which is tied to them...). I really couldn't make one I'd personally use, but I sort of like them.
As happy as I am for ppl playing around w the viera in the benchmark I can’t help but feel a little bummed that I won’t be able to play as a male viera. Still debating if I want to change to female at all but I agree that the cats2.0 are a bit disappointing w not being able to choose hair and face separately
I don't know where you're getting the impression of 'generic,doe-eyed anime girls' from, but it depends entirely on which face options you piece together, like with any other race. Take a look in the 'Show Your Viera' thread; there's plenty of proper amazon buns in there.I'm seeing people purposefully trying to make Viera as masculine as they possibly can and they STILL look like they just came out of a free Mac demo.
I'm gonna go look for myself because if you really can't get away from the makeup then the people behind this stuff were
Edit: I've played with the creator.
You can remove the eyeshadow, but the eyelashes are still maybe maybelline. (They've also got VERY shiny lip gloss, like they're wearing one of those... lip kits or whatever you call 'em.) They're also... very generic. Doe-eyed anime girls. (But tall!) No viera charm, only on the nose where it'd be the least offensive, I suppose? None of the interesting creasing around the eyes that I really liked on Fran or anything like that. Hopefully, if mViera come along, they'll let you have some of the coloration that Fran had. That tired/done look she had was everything, and I'd endure a kitten with extremely sharp nails clinging to my bare leg to have a guy rabbit with that feature.

I am ultimately quite disappointed by Hroth. I never wanted a beast race, I liked them keeping the 2/3 human paradigm but they grew on me, I thought about having a retainer Hroth and was supporting some friends who were undecided but now I like nope. I can't but think that Viera would've been so much better.
Just dropping by to say once more that I'd like Viera men to be tall, handsome and distinctly male in their appearance with a muscle slider for optional bulk!
