Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

To be honest, I'd just be happy to see a male viera NPC, because I've wanted to know what a male viera looks like since FFTA days. But at the same I acknowledge I'm wayyyy in the minority and the amount of salt would be real if it wasn't made playable. Kinda wanna meet the Hrothgar Queen, too.

I don't think a male viera or female hrothgar NPC will be shown unless SE plans to make them playable at some point. Like you said, people would get upset. If we do see them as NPCs one of these days though, I think that may be a good indication they will be playable in the future. I think the soonest we would see an NPC would maybe be near the end of this expansion, but I'm not counting on it.

FF is fantasy based on real life. I don't have to go further than that. The races obey the core laws of real life: Males are taller and stronger than their females, this is true in every case. The races adhere to the enivornment they live in. Lalafels being the exception, they could have lived anywhere. But try to make me believe that Elezen could have been placed in the Azim Steppe and I could do nothing else but laugh...


The women that lived/live in the Amazon jungles of South America are not of the warrior category.

Moreover, as I explained before, the height of the race could be anything when they're a brand new race. Viera isn't a brand new race, they're a tall race described as ruthless warriors.

FF is a fantasy based on real life, the males (by definition of what a male is) will/have to be be beefier than the females. Beefier than the females puts them in the male Elezen category, but we already have male Elezen so they would have to scale up to be beefier than male Elezen (who are a really skinny race to begin with).




That's the image of what a viera boy would look like. The problem here is that I see too many people trying to make male Viera everything under the sun but what is logical, what the devs already drew. I'll be damned if a bishounen "man" is a jungle warrior

Jungle and Bishounen should never belong in the same sentence. They had their chance with Elezen and their brand new race the Au ra.

I agree with you that make Viera should be muscled, but it makes no sense to say that males have to be stronger than females. First of all, there's many women who are extremely massive irl and are stronger than like 99.9% of men, and what's the point of a fantasy race if they all follow the same rules that humans are believed to do so. Rabbits, what this race is based on, is an animal species on where females are much stronger and bigger than males, so it could very well he a route they decide to take, but I hope they make male Viera similar body type to male au ra

That's lifestyle. A man and women who are in the military and train all day will show the result of the men being talle and stronger compared to the men, that's how the creator made us.
And again, FF is a fantasy game based on real life, if it wasn't we'd have alien races with 9 arms, a world without cities, etc.

Male Au ra physique would be fine for male Viera, it's close to the concept art. Though they shouldn't have the same body proportion, they should be between male Roe and male Au ra or between male Au ra and male Elezen. Don't want a male Roe and male Hrothgar situation all over agian.

Actually men are stronger than women naturally. That is an objective fact, even if a woman trains to her hearts desire a man who doesn't will still generally be stronger. Not saying there aren't tons of women who are stronger than many men, but it's not the same.

I agree on that partially. A majority of men tends to be stronger than the majority of women, but like you said, there's many women who are stronger than most men. I think that has to do with hormones and muscle mass

It does have a lot to do with testosterone. Still, a woman stronger than a man is an exception not the norm.

Not like it matters much in this game in the end. I am running around as like a 5'1, or maybe 5'2 petite au ra with a battleaxe bigger than her body! However, the female viera don't really have much going for them other than height, the males should be muscular, in my opinion.

Your character is also the WoL, who bears a deity's blessing.

This definitely plays a big part in the fantasy of this game.
