Yet people are treating it as if it is. Honestly reading through this, I got a good laugh. It's just gamer entitlement. The comments that made me laugh the most were the "I'll pay my sub again if" or "Unsubbing until added". Like SE actually care.

It's not entitlement at all.....Most people in this thread have been quite cordial and asked SE politely and concisely that they would like to see the missing genders added.....this is no different from any other occasion that the player base has requested something and SE have delivered.....a massive list of player requests that have been implemented exist, but just to name a few.....Inventory increase, glamour dresser, male bunny outfits, normal raid to accompany savage, many job changes, various mounts such as cloud bike/dodo/many more, new game +.....this list could go on and on and every one has came to be thanks to players requesting them....yet non of these were classed as "entitlement".....I mean the only reason Viera are playable in the first place is thanks to player requests via a thread that was created when the Viera concept art was first shown before the release of HW....that is the only reason female Viera are a thing right now...

A request cannot be entitlement by definition....because nothing is being demanded, which is what entitlement equates to. The majority of this thread is literally just people REQUESTING male Viera....either by a comprehensive and well thought out point supported by lore and SE previous development trends, or simply by a simple little message telling SE that male Viera would be nice to have.....

I read this thread sometimes for the same reason.

People wrapping themselves up in entitlement, cuddling together and lashing out.

And yes people, there's a big fat difference between entitlement and desire/ hopes/ wants. You can want Male Viera, you can hope for them and ask for them and speculate about them. But it turns into entitlement when you act like you're owed this. When you act like the devs need to take out the time 1 month after a huge press event to comment even more about this after looking at YOUR thoughts just cause YOU care about it (even though they're in the middle of a great expansion and fans haven't even seen the extent of what they're doing). When people felt they could call the devs Homophobic or sexiest for this as if it was a personal attack on them. When people see fit to come here and call the devs "Gutless/ cowardly" for not responding yet and not get booed tf out by the self proclaimed "decent" ones here. When people bad mouth Hrothgar and call the devs "shady" for adding them and not exactly what THEY wanted ... that's entitlement.

They don't have to give you everything you want. Paying a sub doesn't mean they have to grant your ever wish or reply to fan's every concern. They're not taking something away from you so you're not owed anything cc wise.

Also, just because it's not >50% doesn't mean it's just a hundred of angry players throwing a fit. Let's say... 30% isn't a majority but it's certainly a noticeable chunk of the playerbase.

I find this funny, the only measurement we have for Male Viera interest is the likes on the OP here. OP after 1 month only has 1.6K likes and like 1.4k were in the first 1 or 2 weeks. That's dwarfed by the number of views on YT for the reveal and even if you don't count that then you can look at how SE released a simple CC head shot of a Viera on Insta and got over 10K hearts in a day. Reddit? Threads about Male viera get down voted to hell because people there who don't care are done putting up with the whining. JPN side of this Forum? Last I cheacked their thread about BOTH races being monogendered was at 25 pages and went days without a new post.

There's really nothing that shows me that there's a noticeable amount of people out raged over this or even decently offended.

This suggests that you're just cherry picking the responses you read on here.....there have been a multitude of responses which are not even remotely entitled and offer up very valid points.

Why not engage with those responses and have an actual constructive dialogue....instead of focusing solely on the so called "entitled" posts...

So because people are giving feedback and sometimes say that they might stop giving a product money because its not going the way they would like to is similar to "end of the world"? I hope you dont have the "entitlement" in your life in any way because as soon as you leave a bad review for something, stop using something from a company (with or without feedback) because of certain things you are now "entitled" too.

Games that people have played for years and that has created many emotions and memories with it will always be more emotional than any other item in real life. So of course some reactions might be a bit over the top or seem emotional at all. But I would dare and say that most of the people still dont see it as the end of the world, but simply as maybe the end of playing this game. Which might hurt if they have enjoyed it for years and wanted to enjoy it even longer but simply cant for reasons. (Genderlocks just maybe being one of them)

Edit: About reasoning why they are leaving: Well the forest being on fire could be one but since the WoL is special anyway and would have left way before the new expansion, it could simply be a vision of Hydaelyn that told them to battle for the world. Because if the world is lost then their forest is too. Maybe they could even go so far and never have a single male NPC out of the forest but let the WoL be one that is special in a way.

Alright I'm actually getting reeally annoyed at SE by this point with them saying nothing and trying to ignore us. I really hope they consider giving us a response as soon as possible to calm people down with this topic. Also it's quite possible to get harassed if you say you want male Viera and on my FC if I ever say it they tell me to either change context or leave so It makes me feel really bad and I'm honestly considering on leaving the FC, if not the game itself, and instead playing ESO where there aren't any gender locked races. At least WOW is getting a new patch that seems extremely promising and hopefully it can fix BFA so I can get back on it before next expansion.

Let's wait until 5.0 before jumping to the conclusion that they're trying to ignore us. They've already stated they're reviewing feedback. Not sure what the point of a rushed response would be at this stage.
