Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Adding my support for the bunny bois and hrothgals.

The no male viera hit very hard, especially looking forward to RP'ing as one. Their lore is similar to my favorite wood elf units, the Wildwood Rangers, from Warhammer Fantasy, and had a whole backstory cooked up and class type. Seeing the hrothgar reveal almost killed all inspiration I had for writing anything new in the XIV universe (silly, yes, I'm over it now.)

Although now I'm looking into what I can cook up for a male Hrothgar (considering their very Greek themed armor aesthetic, and ultimately being basically minotaur-like.)

None the less, I'm certain deep down Yoshi and his team will bring the two genders out, we just need to be the louder support over these toxic scumbags who could even think about threatening the team.

From the looks of it they also really would like the races to be unlocked! The people on the JP forums are being a lot more civil tho, theres not really anyone against the unlocking of the races being rude

Please give us male viera. Please give us a male body type we don't already have too. Boys really need something that fills a similar niche as au ra female does for the girls.

Seeing that there would be no male viera pretty much evaporated my interest in Shadowbringers. My friends and I were really looking forward to being able to play them.

I understand the dev team has been working very hard (probably overly hard!) on this expansion, but the gender lock decision has made me feel a resigned disappointment instead of any hype. I hope that one day in the future we will be able to play male viera.

No matter what excuses people want to make, lore, time, resources, etc, the fact of the matter is SE is going back on their own words, which is rarely a good business practice. It's not the first time they have done it, but it is the first time that it really does feel like a step backwards, back towards where they came from, back towards 1.0. While it might not be the "end all be all", it is certainly a bad sign, and leaves a very bad taste in people's mouths.

Final Fantasy XIV gives exposition to the elusive male viera, who are virtually identical at birth to females; only upon maturing they are able to be identified gender wise. Male viera return to the village to collect the male children who reach puberty to teach them the ways of the hunt. They live in separate settlements and only communicate with the females when needing to mate, trade or collect the male adolescences. The male viera are secretive, vicious, skilled hunters and are so well adapted to living in viera forests no one aside from female viera has ever seen one.

with the imperial invasion, i doubt golmore jungle was left alone, then male must have change them way to live....
all i say, it's easy to create a lore reason to make it different. the empire in FF12 are far less invasive than the one we have in FF14.... in FF14 garlemald take everything they want, when they want... use any means for improve them life throught technology, you say that the empire didn't invade the jungle for find any special ressource like plant, rare wood or mineral? if not new form of energy.... that silly

ps: without forget that even viera outside of the jungle is something rare, how explain the large number of player we will see then?
