It's a cultural thing as well as a PR one. If you watch how he talks, he very rarely outright says "no" to anything.

There may be other examples, but I believe the only times he's ever given a hard no to anything in the game was when people asked if more jobs would split off the same class in the same way as summoner/scholar, and when people were asking to play a warrior of light that's adolescent or a child. Everything else has always been "maybe..."

I don't have much interaction with Japanese businessmen otherwise, but from what I've been told by others, this is normal for someone in his position.

Depending on the subject he's pretty straight forward about it. Other times he will dance around it or throw "server limitations" at us. It mostly depends on what he's talking about. Sometimes he probably doesn't have the freedom to say yes or no because that's what the big man at the top ordered, like at Fanfests. You can tell he wants to tell us a juicy bit of information but everyone, himself included, knows he can't yet. I might not agree with all of his answers, and I may roll my eyes at him every now and then, but I just appreciate not being talked down to like the WoW devs do to their player base. Yoshi P seems like a good guy who's as passionate about the game as some of the rest of us. He even referred to it as his "life's work" during the showcase when he confirmed he wasn't going anywhere.

Is it that difficult to say? "Don't expect them because we can't do it right now. However, it is high in our priority list, so, if possible, they will be developed."
Even so, the "we can't" excuse is getting stale for some issues with the passing years, but it would just put the matter to rest. At the moment, they are just playing with people's hopes. They 99% know this is a concern in the community and if they don't, they have a serious problem getting in touch with us, considering the amount of likes this thread has.
Anyways, as it has been said, we'll have to wait for the complete notes on the Endwalker expansion, but their behaviour towards players is not always as respectful as it is claimed to be.

Yoshi P already said "We can't do it right now because of issues that we are facing. It's not something that can be fixed by throwing money or people at it. If we find a way to overcome these problems, we may look into it, but for now, keep expectations low." That's basically what he said RIGHT after they weren't announced in 5.0. Nothing has changed so there's no update to give.

I'm trying to remember if back when they dropped the Shadowbringers 1st incomplete trailer they revealed the races.

Low. There's low chance anything involving this will be at that fan fest. They're already set back several months due to Covid. There's no way they've had time to overcome the issues they've brought up before alongside the pandemic to make this happen.

I mean hey, its always possible. Im not gonna tell anyone it is, or isn't happening because they could always surprise us.

Sadly the only rabbits i see coming are the hummingway(moonrabbits) as a beasttribe. the moon is related to rabbits as is, in the ff series and in general folk lore of japanese/chinese people. so i guess yoshida teasing „who lives on the moon“ could very well be linked to the hummingway. i think connecting it to male vieras is a stretch imo.
i can‘t wait for the male viera/humming way memes tho!

Take aura bodies replace scales with fur
Let them be a little shorter

Give them a mix of elezen/miqote animations

Snap on a new head with some ears
And viera exclusive hairstyles.

well it aint that easy since they have to also give them voices,sfx,different emotes,see if they work on mounts(some mounts give races unique idols),make sure as much gear fits well on them

As far as I'm aware, if they literally copied male au ra and made what is basically a glorified mod with a few updates to animations and some hairs, it should be rather wasy to do, but I belive its quite unlikely theyd go that way (by a glorified mod, I mean literally taking male au ra, swapping textures, adding ears, hairs, racial gear and changing the faces a bit) since it may cause some players to think thatthey were underworked. That being said, while I do have some hope for May I dont actually expect them, guess we will have to wait and see

They have to make the model, then animate the model, fit thousands of pieces of gear to it; especially the face, account for different scaling of the model, and then add and sync other things like voice FX.

This is not as simple of a task as you want to think it is....and I think they are better then to just rip another model and just steal other model emotes. If they could and felt lazy, they would have done it already to save time.

To be fair, they could technically have already done it just not showed it yet (which actually, would make sense, since theyll likely want to hype the expansion a lot more when theyre closer to release) but even then, I do believe thatmany players would be happy and likely wouldnt even notice or care about them being a ripped model, which I atleast see as a possibility, considering it would likely mean a ton of money since ppl will switch anyways for a decently low budget (assuming they literally just copy paste eveyrthing and basically make again, a glorified mod) even if it is rather unlikely considering the dev team does intend to make everything they do release as a hig hquality proejct, which I personally stand for
