Thats horrible, I do agree there split decision was a huge mistake. They should have either done full Veria or full Hrothgar and not try to please everyone, since I feel they just made more people upset in the process

They wouldn't be any less limited. The only difference would be male viera, or female hrothgar. We already know which one would probably have won out, and that would be male viera at the expense of the entire race of hrothgar.

Have not posted in this thread in ages but at this point I think it's clear that the limited races probably won't ever take priority again. Right now SE is more focused on the FF7 remake and yet another FFXV mobile mmo for China. Viera and Hrothgar couldn't be lower on their list of things to worry about. If you're a Viera or Hrothgar at this point still, do yourself a favor and fantasia yourself to a non-limited race and I promise you'll be way better off. I don't anticipate seeing any new features for female Viera or male Hrothgar, much less male Viera and female Hrothgar even though there was a period of time where I was excited about the possibility of seeing them. All the fanart in the world isn't enough to show how much people wanted these missing genders if they refuse to listen to feedback.

Also, as for what the posts above are referencing, that mod creator didn't "have a meltdown" they got their address leaked and their life put in mortal danger by twitter social justice warrior furries and SE fanatics who defend this trend of limited content. I've never seen anything more disturbing unfold on twitter before and it sucks because anyone who's seen the stuff they could make knows that it's probably better than what SE could put out in this state where it apparently is too short on resources to do anything except you know, umbrellas. I guess wanting male Viera and female Hrothgar then making your own is worthy of being doxed. Then people wonder why Fortnite beat FFXIV for best community. My current stance is that SE should never have bothered making these races if it was going to drive people to do crazy things like this and that these threads should all be locked.

First of all, the fact that SE is also making FF7 remake and whatever else literally means nothing for FFXIV because they're completely different teams. FFXIV has its own team within SE, which means that they very well might be working on male Viera and female Hrothgar, so that's kind of a silly argument. Yoshi-P had clearly said that if people show enough interest they'd look into creating the counterparts of these races, but ultimately they're two new sets of models so I wouldn't expect them to arrive earlier than 6.0. I think the community has been quite vocal on the situation so I'm fairly sure the dev team has gotten the memo, unfortunately, these things take time to make especially if we also want dungeons, raids + their gear and all the other type of content we're getting so patience does go a long way.

With that said, if I remember correctly said person with the Viera mods had said some very questionable things and had harassed a few people first, which in turn caused everyone to attack him causing him to have his little meltdown and bail. Don't remember seeing anywhere that people sought him out IRL and ultimately you're confusing the Twitter mob for this game's entire community which is kinda silly as well, especially considering how much of a lynch mentality Twitter has. FFXIV's community is nice, but just like literally every other online platform ever there's toxic people in it and there's nothing anyone can really do to prevent this.

Also, Fortnite won Best Ongoing Game, not Best Community. You're thinking of the Community Support Award which went to Destiny 2 and not Fortnite, which again has nothing to do with how nice the community is but rather how fast and responsive the game's Support is to help the community when they require assistance.

Secondly....No. Yoshi and the Devs have nothing to do with other peoples actions. They have no part in somebody modding their game to get something they want that the devs and director never made (Or even exactly said was gonna happen) And they have nothing to do with Twitter, Reddit, or other peoples action where they attack eachother over...whatever. SE, YoshiP, and the Dev team have no hand in this. They dont control anybodies actions.

I will stay with my Hrothgar Alt thank you Very Much. YoshiP and team had a Fine idea going. Granted, its execution could have been better, but Im at least VERY happy that a Beast Race is in the game, and I love what they have so far. Very Excited to see the updates that they mentioned are coming. And if there is a playable female in the Future with the right options, THEN I will use my HW Fantasia on my Main. For now, I love my ALT.

Ok...You say SE isn't listening to Feedback as if you expected that they would have Male Viera and Female Hrothgar out the gate immediately. Like they would put down everything just to make 'Missing Genders' I find that abit ridiculous, considering how much work it would probly take to get them made.

I think that since FFXIV is its own team we might still see the missing genders, but I really do think that theyre gonna leave female viera and male hrotgar like this, with male viera and female hrotgar being just as limited. What happened with that guy who I knew personally is the most disgusting episode on this 'great' community and I really hope that SE will do something about it (even though I know they cant and even a SE community manager harrassed him so shrug*) I won't come back into the forums for a long while after this (if at all) and I will have to see about the game. Its boring, has little to nothing to do at max lvl and all it has for me is that its a decent game in a genre that's almost dead. Also, when shadowlands releases and WoW fixes their game this game will probs have 30% less players since all the WoW refugees will be back, and if the MMO genre is somehow saved and goes back to its previous glory you know thisg ame isnt nearly good enough to hold a candle against a truly fully-fleshed MMO, with full races, fast combat that dosen't feel crammed, better graphics, amazing customization, and overall the only thing for me in this game is its story, which is great. So I'll come back at the beggining of an expac/ patch play ti and leave it. Do as u please but I hope the devs think about fixing various problems this game has. They've been able to keep ti well for 3 expacs already but with the 4rth I think either they step their game up or they'll see massive abandonment. And have a nice day and try not to follow in the footsteps of the twitter players who put a person in physical and psycological danger because of wanting a feature you dont (but male viera supporters are wild you know?!!!). Also, at this point I dont even care that much for male viera or fem hrot since I wont be playing this game that much from now on. Have a nice day

Whatcha smokin' because I need me some of that. That or you've probably completely forgotten how WoW was, is and will still be with Shadowlands.

I mean, feel free to go to WoW, obviously FF doesn't interest you anymore but to say that FFXIV doesn't hold a candle to WoW ,a true MMO, is both dishonest and ridiculous.
Trust me, FFXIV will be fine when you and the rest of the people not enjoying the game have left. And I'm also sure people will eventually return anyway because Blizzard doesn't really care about its own franchise anymore and they've made it plenty clear lately.

Not entirely true since SE pulls resources from Yoshidas team from certan incomes still like the Square Enix Store, while the game only lifes from subs, extra retainer subs, which is horrible design still in my eyes, and mogry store which is debatable on its own aswell.

That is, indeed, my main worry. The profits generated by XIV have gone to fund rather controversial stuff like XV, of which we finally got the crossover event right before or right after the cancellation of XV's DLC was announced. And it's been rumored and theorized for a while back that XIV has been paying for FF7R's also controversial development (such as releasing the game in "episodes" and the first one being highly implied to only take place in Midgar, i.e., the first third, and I may even venture the first fourth, of the first disc).

Now, of course there's nothing wrong with a company using profits to fund other ventures, but in this case XIV's dev team hasn't gotten many substantial upgrades, either in the manpower or budget fronts. Heck, the team has needed outside help from other teams (notably, XV's) for particularily big patches. So it feels like XIV is more of a "take" while not giving as much back.
