You couldn't be more wrong. As far as I know nobody wants them to be kid-looking (becuase it would be creepy, since their mates are adult 'Amazonian' women), people just embrace the idea of getting the reverse of AuRa (taller and stronger females, shorter and more delicate males). It's about having more options. Remember that people are different and some of them like to indentify with their characters. We have literally no option for androgynous men, all male characters are bulky, even Miqo'te. So I'd be more than happy to see one male race with more slender body, that's all. I do not see anything wrong with it.
Oh no Im well aware of that, its part of the reason Im like if they wear heels they can still be males. Clothes dont change your gender or sexuality they are pieces of cloth. Nothing in nature says a man cant wear high heels, especially if its a race thing. Different cultures have different values, theres plenty that have men that wear something a certain someone would be heavily against because its "feminine".Fun fact, heels used to be a male thing after all, renaissance times and such.
It only changed, sterotypes not needed in a fantasy world anyway on top, regardless if people might see it as gay or so, those people need to learn living and accept that peopel can be different in alot of shapes.

Low muscle tone midlander males with softer face options are androgynous. Lalafell are also absolutely androgynous and male elezen can be designed to fit this aesthetic. Miqo'te are admittedly beefy but I think part of the problem is that only male hyur and roes get to customise their muscle tone, so that could be redressed by expanding it to other races.
Yet some people in this thread have asked for models similar to Alphinaud but younger and posted pics that could only be described as shota, so there is clearly an element of the community that does want them to look child-like. Putting that aside, I already consider the dimorphism and design of Au Ra females to be awful, so there is little reason I'd want to see this haphazardly transplanted onto Viera. Hard no thanks from me.

Not true, this is your delicate/androgynous choice. Male ElezenYou couldn't be more wrong. This is again proof that people are not being honest. Male Viera should not be used to fill no kind of quota outside of being Male Viera, tall like the females, a lot of muscle like the females; and based on their lore and the official sketch they should be main/masculine/rugged/buff/puff. If they're androgynous they would just be male Elezen.
And that's a fair point but let's not pretend that that kind of heel is even remotely similar to the stilettos the females wear. The heels the royalty and the likes of Napoleon wore were there for the more practical aspect of augmenting their height, anyway.Fun fact, heels used to be a male thing after all, renaissance times and such.

Not that I have a particular issue with them making heels part of the Viera male racial wear, but the "high heels" on men's shoes from the Rennaissance and later and what women wear now are two very different things.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I dont want a shota race because um no, but males shorter than females is fine, androgyny doesn't mean people are kids. Personally Id like them shorter and buff because that amuses me. Make them like wolverine from the comics.
Also I think when people are looking for androgynous races to connect to lalafel aint gonna fit the bill. We kinda look like kids. They probably want adults.
Yea I dont have opinions on the other 2 races, I just wanted to speak out on the lalafel thing because theyre definitely for the people who want a small cute aesthetic.

Yes, but the two genders are indistinguishable nonetheless, so they fit the bill. Besides, I mentioned two other options regardless. You could still get miqo'te males in there too with the softer faces.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
When people ask for something shorter, slimmer and more androgynous than a character at minimum height with the softest of faces available in-game at present then what they're asking for is equal to a child or young teenager. Again, that is the exact same aesthetic that Yoshi-P ruled out - using Alphinaud as a specific example. I'm sure those posters are well aware of that fact, of course. I'm not going to assume they're lacking in the ability to envision what they're asking for.
I'd rather not see male viera beholden to niche aesthetics, at any rate. Especially when the game is sorely lacking a playable option for those of us who want to play a tall, classically handsome male with no strange proportions. Which is exactly what some of the concept art floating around depicts.
To be fair, people have actually asked to play as young characters several times right here and even in couple other threads here and there.
