DANCER IS A DPS?

Can I have hope for the WHM rework with a flood of light? That seems as good of excuse as any to get WHM some utility as we aren't getting a new healer.

This might have been one of there biggest mistakes sense 1.0. We have to many dps and the dps ques will just keep getting longer. We are getting pretty much 2 tanks 1 dps and no healers. Being a tank main for Shadowbring and my friend going be a healer. I plan to run two Trust System members to replace the pug dps. Sure alot of people are going be doing the same thing.

Maybe if there is enough backlash about this. Dancer might get a total rework into a healer in 6.0.

I suspect that SE has given up on trying to spread the population evenly out for roles - the introduction of trusts I imagine will help keep the dps queue down. As for DNC getting a rework - very unlikely. The best we had to hope for is that we actually get new healer in 6.0 (probably GEO I guess) but frankly I think it's more likely that we'll get two new dps.

It makes since that dancers are physical damage dealers and not healers, most just expected it to be a healer since it's weird they didn't release a tank and a healer at the same time. I don't see geomancers being a healer. I see it being like a BLM but instead of fire/ice, it will be Water/Wind as per the quest text with tornado's and flood and what not (we don't really have a class that uses much of water. BLU uses very little and WHM just has a single knock back) . They added a lot of new water animations after all. and they say in the AST story that they don't get along, that doesn't sound very co-healer.

I'm pretty bummed healers don't get a new class but it could just mean Range casters will get a new Class and Healers get theirs so they both have 4 as well.

As I already said over in general discussion, I’m very disappointed by DNC being revealed as a DPS. That was the one job I really wanted in a specific role. More notably, I wanted it as a healer to shut up the people who keep saying things like, “It can’t work as a healer!”. (Yeah, I’m spiteful like that) So much for that.

But what really hurts the most is the realization that DNC being a DPS means literally no new healer for those who main healers. And at this point, I’m very doubtful we’ll see a new healer before 5.0. And even if one came along as a surprise... well... it won’t be enough to mend my own mental wound about DNC being a DPS instead. (Unless said surprise healer somehow manages to really “wow!” me)

... Don’t get me wrong. I’ll still play DNC regardless. (Will very likely replace MNK as my go to physical DPS for sure) But it’s not going to see anywhere near as much attention from me now, since I primarily play as Tanks and Healers.

Long story short, I’m massively disappointed, and if I allow myself to rant in full detail about this, I’d get banned from this forum.

EDIT: This is extremely hopeful of me, and I shouldn't be even considering it given the way things went for this fanfest, but Songstress suddenly leaps to my mind for a potential healer. I'm getting too hopeful though.

time to boycott healing. I even joked with my fc mate who def going dancer that til the end of the game i will never cast a single heal on him ever again lol I might keep my word for a bit during the launch of xpac to mess with him

They would have to make like adventurer's in need and have to make healer separate with like 5 times the bonus xp, and 20 times the gil that you would normally get if there isn't a new healer.

Queue times?

The NPC healer AI will be working overtime, that's true. But SE doesn't particularly need to care about queue times anymore. And they know it.
