Just a point of clarification Nalien, he didn't say we would be locked out of Crystarium but rather the Crystal Tower on the First.

Also they said Crystarium would have a marketboard so its more than likely the hub. Just have to start thinking how our retainers can cross dimensions and what the implications of a cross-shard marketboard would be.

I guess the question is if them centralizing all the hub and city aspects in Crystarium means Eulmore won't have anything, or if it'll have the normal city amenities regardless.

Could Eulmore end up being the endgame city? I don't know the details from the Fanfests all that well, but given the examples of Ishgard/Idyllshire and Kugane/Rhalgr's Reach, it seems intuitive that the Crystarium will have all the main city amenities like the market board, and Eulmore will hold all the endgame vendors. We don't have a hard pattern yet, but it seems natural to continue it, especially to ease congestion between leveling and endgame players.

Well it certainly seems like it would be the town that would be more likely to receive aesthetic upgrades through the patches at the very least (unless they relegate that all to Ishgard restoration).

I had an interesting thought about teleports. As we know, the price of a teleport goes up depending on how far you are from the destination (to a max of 999 gil). We will presumably be able to teleport freely to and from the First Shard once we get there (likely using the Crystal Tower to handwave this, like it acts as a dimensional antenna, or something). Given that we'll be teleporting to ANOTHER DIMENSION, you'd expect the gil fee to be maxed out, right?

But if they wanted, a cute touch to emphasize that we're actually in the same place, just dimensionally shifted, would be to treat teleports to and from the First as though you were traveling the distance separating the zones on the Source. So, for example, the fee to teleport from Mor Dhona to Gridania would be the same as the fee to travel from the First Shard's Mor Dhona equivalent to the Source's Gridania. Similarly, the cost to travel from Mor Dhona to the First's equivalent to Mor Dhona would be 100 gil, the minimum teleportation fee.

This could be a neat way to hammer home that the two worlds occupy the same location in time and space.

10,200 years is the first date Koji gives for the Sundering and then Koji corrects himself to 12,000 years and keeps using that for the rest of that segment. 10,200 years is a really weird ballpark date while 12,000 years isn't. What difference would the extra 200 years make anyway? From the sound of it, it was a translation error that got corrected.

Of course they're talking over the Japanese audio as Yoshi-P says the thing, but I did manage to catch a ni-sen in there, which would be 2,000. I'm assuming the preceding syllable was man, which would be 10,000, bringing us to 12,000.


In the same stream, he talks specifically about how the Crystal Tower was built by the Allagans after the split, and since that's delivered out-of-universe I believe we can consider that an objective truth as well.
