    I thought those were just placeholders in the beta. When retail came along and I saw that the animations hadn't changed AT ALL, I had a very big :-/ on my face for a while.

    FFXI animation looked better iirc, its probably because most of the class i had was close range DD and i was actually inside the animation. I remember looking up in the middle of the tornado vortex and getting Sleep > AM'd in ballista lol.

    *edit* also it seems that if they make those AMs spells in FFXIV bigger and with longer duration it would look nice.*

    OP: FFXI look better to me. FFXIV Spell animation need to be improved.

    Note1: Since FFXIV release Ive been horribly anoyed by the sounds of the spells. To me, the spell sound fx for BLM in XI was powerful. You felt like "fuk ya i just nuked that $hit". In XIV its like this weird woosh of wind for every spell.

    Note2: The "Cure" sounds are dreadful in XIV as well. I actually play with sound turned off most of the time because the "Cure" sound in XIV starts to bug my ears.

    I like this, you froze this mob so much you droped the nearby temperature and even his buddies near him are cold, or that THunderbot hit so hard it arked to his friends or that fire was so intense it set his friends on fire. INteresting, but I wonder why if the fire is so intense, does it not burn the tank? There could be some party dynamics here that could help keep them safe, but it could get crazy in a hurry, but no need to do it, just interesting to think about.
