Fatal DirectX Errors

Check the Windows event viewer.

It more often then not will still log an error of some sort even if no error pops up when the XIV client crashes.

I'm not seeing any errors that directly correlated with that? And again, now the issue isn't that it's crashing atm (that might be fixed? Unless this is a new weird way of the error manifesting without any full crash or error pop-up) - it's that the video "freezes" (audio keeps going, and to some degree I can affect my character with buttons but nothing is happening visually). If I ctrl+alt+delete myself into task manager and then click back into the game it seems to fix itself for a moment, but then does it again, be it in the same inute or like 10 later.

Including this morning, just a moment ago! And I tried to pull up the logs asap, so it's roughly everything from 11:25 and onwards - but none of them mention display drivers, DX11 (p sure I'm playing on 9 atm, because 11 was REFUSING to work, but I'll switch to it and give it a quick test after this reply). I really can't make sense of them or figure out which one of these is most helpful. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: POTENTIAL soft fix as of updated my drivers and windows just for the hell of it, yet again (nothing appeared to be major), back on DX11, Fullscreen not Borderless, FPS Limit set to 60. Got the idea from a separate thread.
We'll see, but it let me in on DX11 for the first time in effectively ages. And that's still not like... a fix imo, that's a work around - given the degree of people, especially with Nvidia cards, having issues with this game *something* is up. :/
I'm gonna take a stab at playing for awhile, and I'll report back if there's any of the issues.

Yeah no DX11 is unplayable atm. I couldn't even get in without getting a 110000022 error. \:

ALRIGHT scratch that soft fix from the record: Got another of the same Fatal DX Errors (110000022). Was hanging out in Eastern Thanalan, unmoving in the rain and with some fireflies floating around, while I messed with the HUD settings. Essentially I was doing next to nothing and it still borked itself.

Compiling the data as I get it here, and because this is getting a bit ridiculous. :/ I'd really appreciate more help or input.

So I managed to install an older driver (will have the specs below) that was in the time range of what someone else struggling with this issue did to remedy it. It crashed after approx 2 hours last night, and then I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of FF14 AGAIN. Boot it this morning, got the error (11000002) within like, 3 minutes of playing - just fighting fireflies in the same spot.
I'm going to try another run, just letting it sit I guess, after checking my FPS limiter setting once more.

EDIT: Well nevermind that, set the limiter to 30 and it borked as soon as I tried to sign my character in. :/

(If anyone has a SPECIFIC driver to suggest and can link me to it, by all means - I was struggling to find older ones)

As far as stable drivers go, I've been using 416.94 as per recommendation from some people on the Nvidia forums and tellingly, I haven't had a single DX11 related crash in weeks (It turned out I was actually crashing recently because of my GPU overheating...). Make sure your motherboard drivers are also up to date because that made the difference between me immediately crashing and things working smoothly at times.

I'd also try adjusting both your Nvidia and PC settings to prioritize maximum performance if you haven't already and also link state management in advanced power settings.

Alright, thanks for more input! I'm in that log now and found 2 things at the right time, so maybe one of them tells us anything? One even mentions a driver. : P That said I don't know too much how to make heads or tails of them.
(Thanks for being patient and repeatedly pitching in! As previously established this is the most indepth I've had to get tech wise with a game, like, ever lol, and I've had this problem from like day 1 at this point)

Windows game mode and xboix overlays have been off, but I'll check again. And just so I make sure I understand, what do you mean by priortizing performance? As in, like, here, I'll pull up the GeForce thing.
I had at one point shoved it towards battery, assuming less is more, and having all my visual settings on bare bones had been my first obvious attempt at fixing it, but...
(As for PC, my power stuff is mostly on Balance I believe - is it something I should be adjusting there? Sorry to be seemingly clueless, no other game or activity has ever required me to mess around like this, so I'm just a bit inexperienced)

Well, that driver and an attempt to play scored me a Windows bluescreen! Which is the second time Final Fantasy has done that - not to blame FF exclusively but my computer has never had issues like this with anything else. All I had done was popped open task manager when the game was logging me in.
I ran the appropriate Scan and Repair after that, and I'm going to try and boot it again. After that I guess update to the most current driver, since that was the only new element I can place.

My GPU may or may not be to blame in of itself, but I also don't like the fact it NEVER had issues before and recently has had 2 incidences/any issues it's EVER shown have been with Final Fantasy.
My only other idea is to completely remove my virus protector, on the off chance my specific one and FF14 don't agree at all, but that needs to be remedied if so. \: I'm kind of grasping at straws atm.
