I have been wondering about this.
Now when I move it stops my spell form going off does this mean I wont get animation locked anymore and get owned by Ifrit's burning love pools?

Correct. Should be useful.
NO MORE DEATHY!!! All we have to worry about now is the laghehe.
God, that makes me so happy if true. ME AM HATE ANIMATION LOCK! lol...
Has Yoshida posted on why exactly we need to cancel spells while moving. I don't buy animation lock as a reason, they can just have a casting while moving animation. I love being able to move around while casting.
I thought one of the public reasons was to have a better way of canceling a spell being cast.
Although I think some would have settled for pressing escape.
A slightly hidden, but not really reason, is that the mechanic for 2.0 could be setup this way and it eases people into that playstyle of "moving = spell interruption".
The main reason was to balance out PVP content.
He actually released a gigantic post about it a few months ago. He's really thought it through and it's coming for a variety of reasons.
