I'll speak out as well. As the OP stated.

When SE announced the 1st server merge I didn't have any problems with SE's choice thus I didn't speak out. I personally thought that giving the players (active) a chance to choose what server they wanted (method 4) was a wise choice thus I didn't speak against it.

I'll admit I just lurked the official forums in silence and /popcorned at all the members QQing about why method 4 was such a bad choice by SE and why they would rather have method 2 for whatever reason <insert here> (mostly dealing with splitting up ls/friends who were inactive). My personal stand on it was- who cares, I too have friends who do not play anymore and they have inactive accounts but we're the paying customer's here. A majority of the players I've even heard of that 'plan on coming back' plan on doing so in 2.0 and the chances that new servers/server transfers options will be implemented look very promising. From a developers stand point- They would be crazy not to allow this.
Because of this I could care less if player who have inactive accounts and do not pay for the game currently got split up.

Although, admittedly I did not see method #2 having any different effect on me at the time. Because I would /still/ presumably get a chance to change servers at will. And still /thought/ that active players would take priority.

Server merges come around- The linkshell as a whole decides to make a jump to Hyperion. I've made sure to note to the LS to not put in an application incase something comes up and Hyperion is full (was planning on taking the 2nd chance to put in applications as our shot) Then low and behold-

This mornings events happen and the forums blow up once again. Now the linkshell is stuck on a server that I can't even pronounce the name

I can at least say I'm thankful no one made the jump right away. I feel for the multiple linkshells who have already made the jump going 4/15 or 12/16 and so far and for those who were forced to move to Ragnarok after realizing their linkshell as a whole didn't make it even when all applying literally within the hour of applications going live.

Conclusion: When forums blow up- make sure to state your opinion. Even if you think it won't affect you in the end. And I apologize to anyone who supported method #4 and spoke out applauding it. I should have as well at the time.
