Just because we aren't as bothered by such a minor thing as you are doesn't automatically mean we abuse the timer. We just think you're overreacting. A lot.

Personally it makes me think you have yet to meet an actual troll who does real damage. This "issue" you brought up isn't even vaguely a real problem. It's a minor annoyance at best.

I don't agree with it but at the same time it's such a small thing. It's not causing harassment or grief. All it does is make you stand around for a few minutes after you have already finished the content, and this is assuming something you even want has dropped. You can literally go afk and do something while you wait. It's not like a DF queue in which you have to stay near your gaming machine if you don't want to miss your window.

The only time it has actually annoyed me is when I'm in a rush to get out. But that is my problem because I chose to do content when I knew I had limited time to complete it. It's not up to other people to rush just so I can get out a little faster.

They need to make roll still active even after leaving ... so people stop trying to "scam" the loot by forcing people to leave playing with their nerves.

The only thing they could do is if all 3 or 7 party members have rolled they could automatically roll for the final person if they haven't rolled within a few seconds of the last person that rolled. Only problem is on things like orchestrian scrolls that don't tell you if you have them or not and people are looking to see if they have them already when the log book doesn't have a search option might screw them out of a roll or give them the scroll and them already have it.

Might as well just learn patience.

I think this could be a good QOL addition anyway, along with having pre-set roll conditions.
Basically you could reduce the time limit a bit to 2/3 minutes, and add in an auto-roll system which can be set to either kick in immediately, or after the time limit.
You can set it to auto-need/greed/pass everything that drops, (where need reverts to greed if unavailable).
The default settings of course being greed after time limit.

You would have a problem with loot lockouts as well tho. And people complaining that they forgot to turn the auto thing off and lost loot for one week.

Just disable the auto function for instances with loot restrictions.

I just generally [Please roll for loot]. It usually does the job.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Except that’s wrong. It’s actually not about people leaving, it’s about other people rolling first. This issue is pretty much exclusively in content where loot lockout is still in place and people have to lot specific items. So if someone who would lot your item lots on another item and gets it then you have less competition for your item.

E.G. O9 drops a bolt, 2 pedals and a chain. You are after a bolt, you pass the pedals and chain but don’t lot the bolt, you have 7 other people who could be after a pedal a chain or don’t care and lot everything. By not lotting the bolt you remove 3 of those people as competition for your lot because they will settle for a chain or pedal. So 7 competition goes down to 4. You basically cut the competition for your lot almost in HALF and that’s not even including the people in the run who were exclusively after a pedal or a chain and aren’t interested in bolts.

So in that scenario, what would you rather do? Hold up the lots 5 minutes to practically DOUBLE your chances of getting your lot, or roll right away and lose it and spend another 30+ mins in queue (as a dps) and another 10 mins doing the duty (if it goes well) just to repeat the same process?

Don’t blame the lotters, blame the loot system. THAT is what needs to change.

Which is exactly what happened to me.

FC was running an alliance in a 24 man and they all kicked me. Of course I reported it but couldn't do anything after the fact.
