Am I screwed? Relic quest issue.

I started the paladin relic quest which awards you a SWORD and SHIELD. I capitalized those two words for a reason. You get it from a quest called "Soul without Life" and The next quest is called "Toughening Up". A few days passed by so I decided to clean out my inventory and I must have gotten rid of the sword. Im not 100% I did but it's gone. So when I tried to continue the next quest titled "Toughening up" I'm required to have the sword and shield equipped to accept the quest. The sword is called a Animated Hauteclaire and the shield Animated Prytwen. You don't get either two individually. They are a weapon set that you get together. I tried redoing the quest "Soul without life" from Ardashir in Helix but she keeps telling me that I already received the sword and shield. Do I need to get rid of the shield to get the quest or what? I'm at a lost now. I put in a ticket but I was told they cannot verify if I ever had the sword even though I own the shield in my inventory. Is there a way that I can continue the quest or am I just screwed?

Not the animated version. I checked my reatainer, my glamour dresser and even did an isearch and the shield only came up.

Did you have the shield on you? If so, try storing it with a retainer, then see if it will let you pick up the quest.

If that doesn't work, then I see two options for you...
1) You could TRY throwing away the shield, however if that doesn't work, then you may be completely screwed (see #2).
2) You could contact a GM and issue a "lost item" ticket (or whatever they call it). Apparently once per account, they'll restore a mistakenly lost item. With that said, if you took option #1, will they restore both sword and shield if you lost them at different times? I don't know.


Other less-likely musings...
• Is there any chance you misspelled something in your isearch? I doubt it, since you said "the shield only came up" so you probably just searched for "animated", which would apply to both items...
• Is there any chance you picked up "Soul Without Life" for a different job? The game does allow you to have multiple relics going simultaneously, but I don't think you're allowed to have them on the same step at the same time. It could be preventing you from picking up that quest on PLD if you already have that quest in progress for a different job. If that was the case though, then your error message is completely wrong, so I also doubt this one.

could also ask in novice network,FC etc etc to link the item your missing somone might have it and just [search for item] might have just misplaced it

i put the anemos samurai top on my dummy and forgot i put the thing on there (search for item doesnt tell you its on a mannequin)

The swords name is Almace at that step right?
If you're not sure you've tossed it, have you tried the command /isearch Almace

I got it working. I went YOLO and I
delete my shield to see what happens. I was able to accept the quest and continue on from that point.

That both sucks (since you lost all that progress) and is good to hear (now you aren't stuck in a hole).
