Tranfering from prefered to non prefered servers.

A few friends joined the game with the Twitch deal and have been playing in a prefered server with the intention of coming over to my server with the upcoming transfers.

What we dont know is if they will retain their "Road to 60" buff after the transfer or not.

The obvious answer would be no, but seeing how you keep the buff for its remaining time after a server loses its "prefered" status, we were wondering if it would also be the case with transfers.

They will loose the road to 60 buff if they go to a non perferred server, the purpose of that buff is to encourage growth on smaller servers.

We've still got a couple months until the free transfer I believe (some time in May? maybe closer to 1 month than 2) plenty of time to get to 60, especially with road to 60.
I think it only took me a couple weeks to get 2 jobs from 1 to 60.

Honestly, World Visit will hit before then I believe. And as long as you're on the same data center it might not even be worth transferring in the end. a Cross-World Linkshell, friends list, and world visit may very well cover everything you want out of the system.

They can't transfer until they have been on the preferred server for 90 days. But assuming this is the case, they should be at least 60 by now! And yes, the free transfers start for EU in a couple weeks. If they chose a NA server for some reason, they'll have to wait another month.

Yup, and if they are on a preferred server they won't be able to take advantage of the free transfers as it locks them in place for 90 days.

For a period of approximately two weeks following the implementation of each new Data Center, all characters on affected Data Centers will be able to transfer Worlds at no cost.

This would make people assume that all characters means all characters.

Would be nice to have some clarification. It doesn't explicitly state either way, other than the all (which can just mean any chars not effected by the trial and such)

OP talks of the "road to 60" buff. It is not kept on transfer, unless you go to a server that is still eligible for the buff and you character still have the requisites.
