I posted this in the wrong thread as i could not find this one.... >_>
Ill just drop that....
Its been a series now for some days that level or mentor roulett throws me in such messes. LotA with an blm using lv 30 stuff THIRTY! thats like, might as well /afk. ofc we wiped several times as some were new/semi afk but not having decent dps did not help.
Just now i did a trial and it got me tsukoyomi story.... 30 min in progress, 30% or smt echo. But the sch had that 300 book, the monk the 300 wep.... like wtf... we just could not beat it, they sucked and with too few ppl to stack it got too much - well and i had like time for 2 pulls >_>
...I also did Sigmascape with an fc mate... we saw several ppl using 290 jobgear... some even some 273 gear.
There has to be a hard barrier, some absolute min lvl per slot and an overall avarage... and job quests.
Edit: just now i did another roulet, got tsuko again.... an blm had 290 weapon, chest pants and some random other stuff, just bought enough 380 to get that 335 needed >_>
Edit:
I just joined a levelroulet, 44 min in progress, Dzemael... there was a lvl 46 thaumaturge.... .... .... ffs on DZEMAEL fsjvdksjhgsdg @_@

Adding my +1 to this topic.
Healing is especially awful with undergeared tanks. The worst I've had personally was a tank in the Vault wearing all Ironworks gear. Not even the augmented version, which is i130, but the base 120 set. The Vault drops i142 so we're talking about 22 ilvl difference. I had popped into a Vault in progress on the last boss and the previous healer had left, and I understood why when the fight started and the tank required constant baby sitting not to die. And the way the tank spoke, he assumed it was all the previous healer's fault and had nothing to do with him, and probably didn't realize that I was only able to carry him due to being geared and experienced. He's going to run a roulette again and get a healer that can't carry him and still not realize that his gear is part of the problem.
If there were ilvl requirements, undergeared players who go through the game thinking they're fine (when they are actually just being carried) wouldn't be as much of a problem.
Got carried and felt fine...FF com in a nutshell.
It's a good thing the MSQ gives you free 240 gear to meet that item level requirement! You know what's even more offputting? Getting to the climactic end of 3.3, being placed in that special "room" with the duty entrance in it, about to face off against the big evil dragon... only to be told you don't have the ilvl to actually enter the fight, so you presumably have to tell Nidhogg "you know what, hold on a moment; I'll be right back"
THAT is hardcore immersion breaking, but the game does nothing to stop it from happening. They could have put the ilvl check at the very start of the quest to keep you from flagging it if you were too low, but nope.
So you really can't use pace-breaking as an excuse for not putting ilvl reqs on leveling dungeons. It's already in the game, and implemented far more poorly at that.
That being said, if they wanted to add item level requirements to the quests themselves during MSQ progression, I have no qualms about that. I think that leveling dungeons need it though, because it’s becoming more and more of a problem. Like the tank someone posted about in the Tales of the DF thread that had i200 AF in Shisui, and level 50~55 accessories from the HW leveling dungeons. Big yikes.

Part of the problem is you just level too fast, so ppl never farm dungeons and actually gather gear... you see many times ppl not bother to loot despite it actually being an large improvement...
Ha you wish. There are enough healers and tanks that get carried through the content exactly like this. I've seen it all.
Sorry SenorPatty but this is not true. There are enough complains about undergeared dps the problem is just that you see it instantly if a tank or healer is undergeared like this, for dps it needs a moment longer.
Usually the give away is their hp pool i used to main hlr so its second nature as i enter a dungeon to look at hp pools to see if anything is wrong ie too low hp or too high with vit accessories on dps/hlrs etc very very rarely do i ever see the latterHa you wish.
