    Wholeheartedly agree with the need. I'd go further, actually; each dungeon should have the following:

    (1) Minimum iLevel-per-piece;
    (2) A higher minimum cumulative iLevel;
    (3) Lock equipment swaps that put anyone below requirements (1) and (2).

    May as well throw in flat-out restrictions on queuing for DF content if your gear durability is below a certain threshold, rather than simply giving a warning (or put a repair NPC at the beginning of each instance). But the burden shouldn't be on players to kick people who violate basic rules of decency. A percentage of players who enter under-geared might not even realize the problem, too, and firmer guidance would be useful for them. There are so many things about instanced content that SE cannot hope to control or even meaningfully influence, but that doesn't mean they should avoid decisive action where possible to ensure a smooth playing experience for everyone.

    Then they never learn and get to requeue for a duty again afterwards without any kind of penalty. Plus there is the whole waiting 5mins (or was it 10mins?) issue once a duty has started, can't dismiss during loot rolls, and depending on the role players might not want to spend a long time waiting for a replacement.

    I'm pretty sure you can vote kick at any time, and its the 'vote abandon' that has time in instance requirement. Nevertheless, the rest of your points still stand.

    vote kick is 5 mins. Vote abandon is 15. (Or 10. Not quite positive on that timer)

    That gear level seems normal for first-timers going in there. Also, I'm pretty sure there isn't an ilvl sync for Shinryu, so a new tank will definitely have to work harder if the majority of the party is at 370+. Most of the time I end up in there, I typically have more HP as a healer (due to 380/390 gear) than a tank if they're new. I feel like SE should have put a 350 or so sync on it just to keep it from getting too far out of control. As long as they can get the mechanics figured out it almost always goes well, even if some random over-geared players end up taking some hits occasionally. As far as the other tank, that was definitely a lazy/bad one. They should have stepped up and at least tried to hold top aggro so only one DPS or healer would get hit if the other tank couldn't keep up.

    Keep account that, whatever min IL is setup, when tank is min IL and rest of the party is synced i400, the battle for aggro between tank and dps is real, even with competent tank. Happened to me when leveling alt, only option is full aggro combo full time, and pray for other tank (that, didn't wanted go MT ofc...) knows Shirk exists.

    I'm a little embarrassed to say until recently I thought we do have an ilvl requirement on the story dungeons so I was happily doing level roulettes as AST with my half shire gear, half lvl 50 something accessories on my way to level 70, taking my sweet time doing one lvl roulette a day. I keep getting level 50 dungeon at most all the way to 69 thinking it's just due to my ilvl and I'm okay with it. Cue my horror when I see Doma Castle pop. I was lucky the party was very understanding when I noted I'm not confident with my gear and we did moderate pulls with no deaths but still... a min ilvl would be nice.
    Lesson was learned that day.

    When synced the Min ilvl and synced ilvl is never great enough that a competent tank will lose aggro (Shinryu MSQ being the outlier). As long as DPS classes are properly playing as well and using aggro reducers; which for some reason they think don't exist because the buttons don't make a number fly on the screen.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    This is why I hope they fix enmity gains across the board.

    One of the biggest problems is gear difference between new tanks and experienced dps to where the new tank is spamming aggro combos to keep aggro, even with dps using enmity dump/reduction tools.
