for leveling dungeons in ShB you will be able to bypass the problem with Trusts

Trusts can be a double edge sword you can have people who can go do df and those who can do solo, but those who can't do it solo because they get targeted by mechanics and get 1 shot would just put themselves in df and make it other players problem, then you have leveling roulette which probably won't allow you to use trusts but this is speculation at this point. :P

The only problem I see are players not playing their class correctly. Once dungeon run I had a paladin run with Sword Oath and COULD NOT keep threat. I and others asked over and over for them to change to Shield Oath but they completely ignored us. Yes I even used the auto translate but their game was already set to English only language. We ended up having to kick him. THIS is the bigger problem, lazy or uninformed players not knowing how to play their class, or just trolling.

Oh, it’s a problem. I’ve seen it and experienced it many times, in addition to the stories you see on here quite frequently about getting people in dungeons with questionable gear.

Never forget when I was leveling AST on my alt, and I queued into the Aery (level 56 AST), and had the most HP out of everyone, including the tank, by a considerable margin (couple thousand, which at that level is pretty significant). I was glad for the first time that it had been nerfed when Stormblood came out, because at least things didn’t hit as hard as they used to. Nidhogg was still a disaster though... 3 wipes. :’D

I mean these kinda go hand in hand if you think about it just some are so lazy that they're a detriment no matter what they do whether it be not AoEing, not tanking, barely healing, standing the bad etc, I had a healer and BLM in Sirensong Sea literally 2 days ago that had ilvl 160 gear. Not only were they undergeared but they were so bad (Medica II on the only 2 trash pulls we did, healing for a measly 5k with Cure II, No Regen, BLM not using Fire IV or Fire II etc) even if they had gear they were bad as they stood in everything and I had to kite as a tank.

The kicker: these guys had a lvl 70 each a tank and a healer and they were that bad and had no regard for anyone but each other as they que'd together into the dungeon with me and another rando and wasted almost 20 mins of our time, yeah I'm a tank and can get insta ques but it's the principle. Don't que into dungeons with gear that's 50, 60, 100 ilvls below the dungeon and use your abilities and stand out of the bad that's all everyone wants.

Once upon a time, I didn't have that problem either. Or at the very least, it didn't look all that apparent to me.

Then everything changed when SB attacked. I mean came in.

Up to this day, the most notorious dgns for having people come in severely undergeared are Sirensong and Castrum. My favorite was this one run in Sirensong where the healer in AF2 gear died to a fully shared stack mech from first boss even with full hp. You know what else made my day in that run? When I pointed it out--and also made the mention that I was gonna do small pulls--the dragoon in that party said the healer was fine cuz "she has a 250 weapon" and even got snarky that I didn't do the first mass pull there. That insta death promptly shut him up

And only one of those 3 can the devs alleviate the problem, which they currently are not doing hence the request to try.

Even if you don't run into this problem, it's also beneficial to implement these steps to ensure that you continue to not run into it.

It's also why I think that there should be some more emphasis on implementing some sort of job training within the games progression, so as to also mitigate players whom just play poorly *Cough*Ice Mages*Cough*Mute Bards*Cough*Threatless Tanks*Cough*

Since, in the majority of duty runs, things are fine. However, preventative measures can go a long way to ensure things stay fine and also increase the ratio of pleasant duty runs (Also, it would mean that you can have actual duties that are actually engaging because they can be designed around people whom have gear that was released this decade and know somewhat how to actually play their job. Instead of making them all just wall-to-wall zergfests)

Given that, sure, this game has a heavy focus on the story (Thus MSQ), it's still an MMO where people play together in dungeons and trials. As such they should be prepared for playing in said dungeons and trials.

Especially if Trusts can allow players whom only care for the story to be able to plod through the MSQ without needing to involve themselves in party play.

I can only wholeheartedly agree with this. While leveling the 3 healing classes I had to deal with absolutely wet-paper-like tanks donning full i260 gear in Doma Castle/Castrum Albania wondering why they almost got one-shot by bosses' tankbusters.

Not to mention the mass pulls with almost little to no cooldown and the classic 'healer, are you healing?'. Damn right I am, but when my HP exceeds yours, we definitely have a problem.

I had a tank in the Royal Menagerie with i280 gear and maybe a couple i300. The other tank didn't want to tank. As an AST, I basically tanked Shinryu more than both of them together. So please, SE, add a minimal ilvl requirement, because it is not only stressful as hell to heal these people, but the dungeons are run at snail pace, which usually I wouldn't completely mind, but being so undergeared simply denotes laziness.

I shudder every time I see a mentor in NN tell to a sprout 'oh a full shire can bring you from 60 to 70 easily'.

When you are going through Stone Vigil and the tank still has level 18 jewlery or later dungeons or raid, you see players with crafting or gathering gear only to get the ilvl requirment, it starts to become a real problem (who said plague?).

The last three days I did the levelling roulette (last was yesterday): three times the Stone Vigil (the normal), three times we wipe because of wrong skill AND gear form both or either, tank, dps or heal. Three days, three times. I gave up doing this roulette, I don't need it anyway but it makes PU kinda frightening.

Or when you see tank in level 17 dungeon both undergeared and with dps gear, giving hard time to the healer.

Or...Oh wait I have glamour stuff from veteran, I will play with it rather than using proper gear -_-
