Usually the give away is their hp pool i used to main hlr so its second nature as i enter a dungeon to look at hp pools to see if anything is wrong ie too low hp or too high with vit accessories on dps/hlrs etc very very rarely do i ever see the latter

Not if its only the weapon, there you'll just see it when the mobs just won't die except the other dps is a good player who carries the undergeared one. But in general you are right, a little look at the hp pool tells you most of the time all that you need to know.
