Add ilv requirement please in ShB[Dev Request]

I suppose there are BLM who both never almost crit-pull and never played one of the FFXIV tanks... It so easy to stole enimity accidentaly (start dps a little too soon, or without diversion, or because tank is simply undergeared or DPS is overgeared and do full burst).

Thought RDM and SMR are told to be even worst than BLM to stole enimity. WHM are not bad either to stole enimity on undergeared tanks .

I remember my first time tanking an extreme content back in 3.4. Ofc it was Sophia! I had barely enough gear to join the content, and I was still learning my lvl 60 rotation on PLD - and learning the game in general, lol.

So my FC took me into the fight, I had to pull, and learn the fight as MT. I just pulled, even used Flash after Shield Lob for more initial aggro, and our BLM still stole the boss from me. The problem? He didn't use Quelling Strikes (BRD cross class skill - 3.x Diversion).

Enmity tools for DPS are not needed? Hah!

The discussion about Diversion is unnecessary. Its a well known fact how important it is and done. Dead DPS/healer cant do their job - thats it and that myth/lie "if i can get the aggro from the tank i'm top dps, lul!" is just irritating and wrong. FF14 is a MMO and teamplay is very important.

It is not savage so it does not matter is such a selfish stance to take. I know the main topic kinda derailed and became a diversion discussion, but i wanted to put my 2 cents in. Why is it such a problem for people to have to press one extra button?? Are some dps on a power trip or something and like fighting there tanks aggro bar?? Why should a tank have to sit in tank stance and spam aggro combos just because some people cant be bothered to use the tools the game gives them. Pulling hate because of no diversion is not bad tank play. That is 100% bad and selfish dps play.

I've been asking this question for so many pages. Their arguments have been torn threw by multiple people and they will not learn. To me its the same argument as healers should only heal not dps etc. I can only guess they are from that crowd that thinks that role your class is is all that that class does. Therefor if you are a tank and lose agro it will always be your fault. That is of course 100% bs and neither of them seem to have a tank.

Worst offender I've seen is probably Dusk Vigil. The tank had a really bad weapon. Run was awful. It should really be a main stat requirement ignoring stat pots/party buff/racial difference since Ilvl assumes each slot is worth the same amount of power/stats, but they aren't. Main stat requirement would also cover instances where people are trying to cheese the ilvl with wrong stat accessories (seen a tank in neverreap wearing casting accessories) and partially mitigate going in with a junk weapon missing massive amounts of weapon damage. The accessories were changed in SB to be job specific, but the older HW and ARR ones you can still do it with.

I don't necessarily disagree with the request, but the leveling dungeons are part of the MSQ, and so for new players to be suddenly told, "You need to go farm old dungeons and / or purchase vendor or play gear to meet the ilevel requirements of the new leveling dungeons," is off-putting, to say the least.

You know what's even more offputting? Getting to the climactic end of 3.3, being placed in that special "room" with the duty entrance in it, about to face off against the big evil dragon... only to be told you don't have the ilvl to actually enter the fight, so you presumably have to tell Nidhogg "you know what, hold on a moment; I'll be right back"


THAT is hardcore immersion breaking, but the game does nothing to stop it from happening. They could have put the ilvl check at the very start of the quest to keep you from flagging it if you were too low, but nope.


So you really can't use pace-breaking as an excuse for not putting ilvl reqs on leveling dungeons. It's already in the game, and implemented far more poorly at that.
