Should the Yokai Watch event return?

With the release of the new Yokai Watch game coming later this year in 2019 I've been wondering if it's possible the Yokai Watch event in FFXIV could/should return as a crossover event to celebrate the release of the new game along with Shadowbringer?

I got all the rewards myself in 2017, but after a mix up with buying Stormblood off Steam instead of direct from SE I've had to start a new account and I miss all my minions I really hope they bring the event back again and hopefully with additional minions and rewards for the new classes that have been released since 2017.

Honestly, I don't know. It isn't exactly a much loved event. I think I would rather them put more effort into something new.

I mean, the thing about the Yokai event is that there's no real signs of it anywhere other than the dude in the GS. So while I don't care one way or another, if they keep bringing it back it's not exactly harmful to people who want to ignore it.

To be fair, putting it back into the game requires absolutely no additional resources, and it usually runs at the same time as other in-game events, so it's not exactly blocking "something new", as well.

I am generally fine with the idea of limited time events but this one is so incredibly time consuming that I think it should be permanent, like the MH and Garo crossovers.

That said, it may be out of SE's hands. We don't know what kind of contract or licensing deal they had with Level-5. They may not be allowed to bring it back again even if they wanted to.

Yes, though OP did say they would also like new content to be added to said event. I just think twice, maaaaaybe three times, for crossover events is well enough. If I had to choose between an old event or a new one, to be slotted between the annual ones, I'd pick the new one. That's just me

If they bring back events every time a new game from an IP is released it kind of takes away the novelty of the event in the first place.
Personally I am bored of recycled events and lazy-feeling rewards. I'd like to see new and fresh ideas brought to the game, rather than doing the same thing every year.
