    The idea is to have a gun similar to this videos but to be original for FF14, i know but one can still dream look at it YOSHI we need it XD.

    REMEMBER to watch the links, the idea is a transforming cannon, Gatling guns, rocket launchers, plasma rifle and Lasers!

    ANOTHER gun class? I doubt it.

    They like to base new jobs around distinctive weapons, and the one thing FFXIV is really lacking is some kind of throwing weapon.
    I expect the next ranged physical class to use chakrams/boomerangs, or maybe a Blaster Edge.

    We have like five sword jobs. I think we could do just fine with a second gun job, or even third if you count Gunbreaker. Personally, I'd love to see something like Corsair from 11, perhaps with a pair of handguns. It'd fit in perfectly with Limsa and the musketeer's guild that already exists there.

    I think something big and bulky like the OP posted wouldn't really work based mostly on how animated that weapon is. Most animation in this game comes from the character models, we don't really have fancy transforming weapons outside of a couple unique unsheathing animations, or 1 or 2 machinist weapons that have a unique reload animation.

    So... Basically Blue Mage in gun form? xD

    Anyway, I don't know if there's much in game referencing such elaborate and large personal weapons. Especially given that Machinist's guns are somewhat revolutionary...

    Though, I do agree that a 3rd Physical Ranged class would be cool.

    I'd personally think more along the lines of:

    * Sniper (Using Greatbows to be kind of like the physical BLM)
    * Gunner (Could use pistols, or a shotgun of some description... Fanservice Vincent and you're golden. Who doesn't like Vincent? He got his own spin off game!)
    * Gambler (Could use cards as a weapon, with job gauge focused on rolling dice. Could also be the above mentioned Corsair wielding their iconic Hexagun)
    * Sky Pirate (Could use the double barrelled pistols that Merlwyb and other Lominsan's are known to carry)

    Though, with less... Extravagant weaponry, you could potentially get like Cannoneer with a heavy artillery weapon, potentially with some XIII Saboteur gameplay mixed in (Debuffs and debilitations)

    Can't really compare swords to other weapons, when every fantasy setting has multiple types of sword.
    Katana, Sword, Greatsword and Rapier, at least in the final fantasy series, are all distinctly different weapon types with their own associated job roles.

    They already tried to inplement a musketeer job, it became Machinist.

    If anything, Machinist should get those heavy weapons as powerful finishers or cooldown attacks. Get more focus on its 'machines', like Edgar ftom VI or Prompto in XV.

    I don't really accept that. There's plenty of instances of jobs sharing similar weapon types throughout the FF series to warrant keeping an open mind about it. Black and White Mage weapons are basically the same, they're just magic sticks with different aesthetics. I don't really see anything about swords that makes them an exceptional case among weapons, I think you could absolutely have a job that wields a pair of handguns alongside Machinist.

    Corsair would be nice. But I'd like dual pistols like Merlwyb.
