Two Months of BLU: Discuss!

So, it's been roughly two months since BLU arrived and a month or so again I made a topic to see how people felt about the job after time had passed. Two months ou, I want to do another one to see if things became more positive or negative. Hopefully one day the feedback will get noticed. So, just some basic questions.

Are you still playing BLU? How often? How long? Ever?

Are you still enjoying BLU as a limited job?

The past two months, have you played BLU more this way than you would have if it was a normal FFXIV Job?

Should BLU be improved on as a limited job or scrapped and made into a real job?

Do you still see BLUs out in the open world or in the part finder?

Do you feel as though BLU would not exist unless it was a limited job?

There's no way for me to get all the spells given my time/in-game friend constraints, so I haven't bothered sinking any more time into it since hitting l25.

Being serious, the job needs work. I have it at i128 and I don't see myself playing it outside of collecting the skills/achievements, which I already have all of.

Blue Mage doesn't have enough solo content to keep it interesting for long, it can't do roulettes, and too many of its best abilities are locked behind group content and/or heavy RNG. In short, there's no real compelling reason to keep going with it until it gets an update.

1. Nope. No reason to play it.

2. Nope.

3. Absolutely not. I have mounts to collect, relics to make, glamour to farm and I can't do a single one of those things on BLU. No reason to putz around doing content I have done hundreds of times when I have current content to explore.

4. This smells like a trick question designed to put people into two camps on opposite ends of the spectrum when most people are somewhere in the middle. What they should do is expand on what we have already making BLU the first Advanced Job designed for veteran players - keeping the learning aspect, gimmicky spells, and allowing it into current content as a real job.

5. I haven't seen a BLU in the open world in weeks and I hunt frequently so I am always out there. Sometimes I see them in party finder, but often they take forever to fill up (if they do) and I just feel sorry for the latecomers.

6. No, because Yoshi-P is convinced BLU cannot work which is why we got a silly half-thought out minigame instead of the job team pushing the envelope.

I still havent played it past the first week of release. My favourite final fantasy job is an absolute joke and there is no acceptable reason given as to why limited jobs are a good idea.

Easy allied seals (free teleports), I would not be playing it otherwise. Once a week.

No, but I want to say when it felt OP (due to one spell...) it was fun. I believe making the spells actually Op and have A LOT more interactions (and interesting ones too) would help a lot. Right now I do not find playing Blue Mage interesting, it's a less interesting rotation than the ones I do know and like. I don't have all the cool spells but knowing what they are and how "cool" for how much effort I'd need to put in, not interested lol (especially as I don't need them to do what the job's only value to me is, getting free teleports).

I would have played BLU more if it was a job. I play all the jobs to level them up, this takes time and is mostly what I do in the game as I don't have a lot of time (gives me something I like to do), BLU would be in the list of jobs I'd level and play with then.

Should BLU be improved on as a limited job or scrapped and made into a real job?

BLU should be turned into an Advanced Job, imo. With limited side content as we see now, but hopefully more powerful interactions and more QoL changes. The other-side would be a normal (main-able) job but is restricted to a specific set of spells for high quality balance and rotation.

No, and I'm on the biggest server (open world, keeping in mind I'm not everywhere at once lol). I sometimes see party finder but it's quite rare. I imagine most BLU get by on friends alone now, or not at all.

Do you feel as though BLU would not exist unless it was a limited job?

I'm not SE, so it's hard to say. Also with some weird comments from leaks we've heard I've wondered if perhaps Blue Mage has more planned than we thought, but that's a bit conspiracy theory territory.
