on side note i never understood y tanks are the only ones who get mounts when their job is 8 time Easyer than everyone else's and 2 of the 3 tanks can literally afk the entire game and you'd be fine for the alliance raids

So if it doesn't work why punish all the other classes by not letting them have unique mounts as well?

How is not getting something that you already don't have, or were never promised, a punishment? You know the meaning of the word, right? It's something you want, but SE has never even mentioned it was a thought.... that doesn't make it a punishment. Are you this dramatic IRL?

And to say the incentive doesn't work is rather ignorant thing to say -- I literally started tanking to get the Bear mount. I'm also leveling up my Paladin and my Dark Knight so I can farm out the Lion and Panther as well.

I honestly feel that giving everyone a job-specific mount would increase the queue times in duty finder. You'd have everyone and their mom gunning for that new Summoner mount, or Red Mage mount, or Ninja mount, or [insert job with the least responsibility here] mount. Meanwhile, the tank queues would remain exactly how they are right now.

I'm glad that only tanks get these job-specific mounts and I hope it stays that way.

I'm quite tired of fairies being the default thing to represent sch. I'd prefer something related to Nym, the city-state where the sch discipline originated from.

I'm fairly sure the Namazu are using the same base models as tonberries, if they feel like recycling mount designs....

This is the current reasoning for the implementation of "Class Mounts", with CNJ's Unicorn being the exception. Thus, it's unlikely that they will add more class mounts unless they create new rewards to entice players to Tank in DF much like the current Tank mounts try to incentivize.

Actually I'm fairly sure the unicorn was also an "incentive mount", for people to take up the only early-game healer class.

I mean I'd love to see things like:

A cool, new, unique personal airship for Machinist.

Machinist needs a giant mecha. I'm sure Stephanivien could scavenge some wrecked colossi from the battlefield if we ask him nicely about it.

Please direct me to where I said the other classes won't have to farm DF for their mounts. You'll find I said no such thing. In fact I literally said zero about how the mounts would be acquired. I merely stated my support for the mounts being introduced.

The problem with that is, the point of offering the tank mounts is to raise the ratio of tanks to other classes in the DF, by giving them an incentive to queue with that class rather than the more popular healers and DPS.

Give the same opportunity for DPS classes to earn a mount through running roulettes, and you raise the number of people specifically queuing into DF as DPS! (And skewed even further by the fact that there are proportionately more DPS classes than tanks, meaning even more DPS runs if you wanted everything.)

If they were going to have class-specific mounts for everyone, I think it would have to be some other kind of "equal opportunity" reward, possibly with tanks picking up a second unique mount through that method.
