Thank you for all the replies everyone! Hopefully I can keep gaming for a long time yet.

Seems to be a lot of couples in this thread that play the game too, that is cool to see.
I met my real life girlfriend a long time ago playing FFXI.
Always nice to be with another gamer because you do not get that "get off the game right now you are on all the time". They understand.
Actually she play more than me.
Love gaming with other couples too...
I remember once I'd started dating someone and they said they liked playing video games... Then they broke up with me because I was better at Guilty Gear... >.>; Some people are silly though to be fair she was a bit younger than me too and probably had some expectation that I'd not be very good at it due to being older.Seems to be a lot of couples in this thread that play the game too, that is cool to see.

I'm female... but I don't act girly so I dunno if that is of any use. XDIm 40usually don't tell people my age (whole lady never tells her age thing)unless asked but felt would be good to share. Whats cool knowing players older then me. I started this game in my mid 30s. Played ffxi in my early 20s. My oldest memory is playing the table top Pac Man game with my uncle. So I have been console gamer all my life atari, nintendo, sega and playstion. For me its been harder to meet more girl gamers my age just talk girl stuff with.

Twinsies! My hubby is also 40 and a gamer and I'm 39 and a gamer. Childfree, though. And we've been together for 17 years but just got married 4 years ago. This is so nice!
My husband is 40 and I'm 39. We've been playing together since we got married right after high school. I was not a gamer at first. My husband was a gamer and would always be on his consoles or computer. Instead of scoffing at him and resenting, I decided to try it out. Have not looked back since!
We've played several games since then. PSO was our first MMO. Then we got into FFXI and played that for 6 years. I managed to get into the alpha/beta for FFXIV both times. There's plenty of other games in between.
We play with our oldest son now as well as other in real life friends. Not many people speak of age so it's nice to know there are several people of different generations enjoying the same content! <3
I've always been a gamer and knew I would have to marry another gamer. Another gamer "gets" it. Like I take a week off to play the new Assassin's Creed. He takes a week off to play the new Fallout. We know what "launch week" in an MMO entails. We put something on Netflix or Hulu on the TV in the office where our desks are, and then play our respective games alone some nights and that's perfectly fine. We don't need to do every single thing together or like the exact same games.
Helluuuuuuuuu

I'm going to be 50 in August.
IRL I am Responsible Manager type. Yadda yadda telephone modems with handset acoustic couplers, BBS, Pong, Timex Sinclair, Ti994A, TRS-80 and so on. "Gold Box" D&D, Compuserve, GENie, original Neverwinter Nights when AOL was pay-by-the-hour.
I don't play the fast-twitch-combo games, the Korean-style combat like B&S, BDO, because my reflexes aren't there. But. I am not sure they were ever there.
PC, keyboard and mouse. Sometimes the middle finger on my left hand gets a little clicky. Left wrist doesn't work as well as it used to, because I used to play a lot of Simutronics "Dragonrealms", a text game, with a text parser, and a lot of Trolls (monster kind).
(Had to type in commands; could shortcut the parser; "Attack Troll" was "ATT TR" and the A, T, and R keys are all on the left side of a QWERTY kb)
I dropped into ARR, I think, in October after ARR launched. Right into New Gridania, at night, during... I suppose, now, it would have been the All Saints' event. Bombs / Bomb FATES all over New and Old Gridania, Bombs everywhere, people having a grand old crazy time, killing Bombs, having Bomb Ash show up in my inventory and not having a clue what to do with it.
I'm hoping - hoping hard - Someone (*cough* Elon *cough*) finds a way to turn us into digital consciousnesses before my corporeal existence terminates, so I can live on in the future-equivalent of Eorzea for real and ever, a LitRPG book brought to reality.

B-but I have lower back pain! And I can't eat unlimited food without getting fat anymore!

I'm personally 24 and almost all my FF friends are 30+ except of few people. I don't even think that your age is that important.
Not mention that calling 32 old is... weird. You are young. And well, you will be so as long as you are young in your soul. :P Sometimes people in their 20's act as if they are 99, and people in their 70's act as if they are 25.
