What are you crazy? I'm definitely going to keep my Ps4 and i will still more than likely play it a lot. I have a huge backlog to eventually finish.
On-topic, more than likely yes FF14 will be on Ps5.
Maybe not right away, but eventually.
I'd like to remind everyone of a random fun fact that even I'd previously forgotten about. When the PS4 released in Japan on Feb 22, 2014 (based on my Google-fu, anyway), they had a beta test for FFXIV's PS4 version starting that same day.
So it's entirely possible that SE could work closely with Sony to get a PS5 version soon (read: at least two months) after the PS5's Japanese release date (whenever that ends up being).

PS5 limitations
It will happen. Day 1 of ps5 release though? Doubt it. Probably will take 5 months to a year when just about everyone owns one. Then they will release it.

Most likely we'll see a PS5 port about a year or two after it releases if game is still doing well, though I wouldn't expect it to change much graphically, will most likely look similar to PS4 version.
Doubt we'll see drop of PS4 support, XI didn't drop PS2 support till 2016 and PS3 wasn't dropped for XIV till this most recent expansion. As long as there are enough players on a platform to generate more money than it costs to maintain that platform, they'll support it.

Just a rumour due to a patent filed by Sony but the PS5 may be backwards compatible. I'd still like to see an upgraded port such as the PS3 / PS4 versions but early PS5 adopters may still get their FFXIV fix.
