No I'm not kidding you. You are going to blame the players for having an opinion? On a forum setup to discuss our opinions? SE should be at fault for listening then because they have the final say. What you're saying is SE is off the hook for:
- Generating different options (and initially proposing the dumbest one btw)
- Not realizing that certain options were not really feasible
- Being guilty of giving stupid people what they want
- Beginning this at some weird hour of the night for a lot of people
- Being generally unprepared for any of this crap.
We're paying customers. We clamor for "what we want" (or at least the vocal minority do), and you're gonna blame SE's incompetence on us? That's a joke if I've ever heard one. Perhaps if SE had some kinda clean track record when it came to these kindsa things I could chuckle a bit, but we all know that's not the case. This is a cluster**** as only SE can deliver, period.

Lol, SE's "incompetence"....Yoshida decided on an option that worked out the best even if it may split off some people, players cried "nononono unfair to the inactive people and my friends who may not play!" SE listened to those cries, which is as you said, the point of these forums, then SE used the option that was more likely to create a mess, which hey look at that, a mess was created. No I'm not kidding you. They weren't unprepared, they were well prepared for merging servers. Players just didn't like what they planned to do so you can't in any shape or form blame SE for this when it was the players who wanted them to change the way they did the merging.
We're paying customers but we're not always self-entitled to everything.
Yes, I blame anyone who is ignorant to the facts spouting off opinions and demands. It is the cause of most of the world's problems. Shortly followed by the customer is always right mentality. No I'm not kidding you. You are going to blame the players for having an opinion? On a forum setup to discuss our opinions? It went down like this.
SE announces the right choice.
Players form lynch mob.
SE gives in and gives players exactly what they want, the wrong choice.
Players come back and complain that SE gave them what they wanted once they realize what their choice actually meant.
Do I blame SE for that? Why would I? Why would you?
P.S. The "dumbest one" as you put it is exactly what you now want and are complaining about not having.
This forum is full of derp today and I love it.
