Lodestone page doesnt update instatly, itl update several times a day so when it updates thats when you may be able to choose a server again

I can't believe I logged in and was told all the servers were full. That is a total lie. And the customer support is no help they are rude and basically said thats the way it is. The only one not full was the european server they created. NA players get screwed thanks Square

@Liliya Whats funny about that, is my main character(s) are on Besaid currently, so if Masamune ever opens up again some spots on Besaid should as well. but, where you do have a new character it should be pretty easy to just simply re-roll on Besaid. Whereas thats where me and myIRL friends are going to have problems unless we can all go to the same server. We can't easily reroll since we have a couple of level 50s as it is

What do you want a customer rep to do? Kick people out of their server for you? Also, all servers full is a lie. There's Ridill and Ragnarok waiting for you.

Quick question: I'm a player on server Besaid. If I do nothing, and just keep my account active, will I end up on Balmung? Is that how it's working now?

Yes, that's what option 2 is.

Part of me wishes that option 1 would happen, but then I took a Balmung to the knee and decided to stay.

Not even the first day - the first MINUTE. I stayed up to be able to transfer to Balmung, and at 3:01 AM four servers already showed an X. The others went down quickly after.

I'm a new player, so I had no part in this option whining everyone seems to be talking about. Initially I hadn't realized Besaid was the unofficial RP server, so now unless the servers open up later (which seems unlikely), I'm stuck with a server I don't feel comfortable in...or forced to reroll on Besaid.

Also, for those quoting SE and claiming they spelled it out for us: "very soon after" is a bit of an understatement, don't you think?

If you are a new player, why don't you just reroll on Besaid? Then you will end up on Balmung. It's not like you have much to lose at this point that you couldn't gain again in the span of 2 days.

Your program will catch it if it's crawling the database which updates itself quicker and more often than the lodestone display would.

I'm guessing the triangles are periodically calculated and the exes are real time, since you kind of need to know if a server's full.

Yes, that's what option 2 is.

I actually liked the first option. And I called a rep because I cannot believe that there are that many people and not enough server room, right now the character isn't active so I was calling to see if my character needed to be active. I thought it was totally wrong how it went down. I don't want to explain the situation but I have to get my character off the server. And this was my only opportunity. So maybe before you troll and make rude comments to other people you should think that maybe not all people want to transfer just because they can but they might have personal situations they need to get away from.

Why even have a server change feature when SE already nearly capped every server?

So we all wasted our time debating over an option to later find it is offered without even a feasibly calculated overhead implemented which thus rendered it futile...

...not to mention that the transfers were activated at a time when the majority of the NA populace was asleep...

Genius strikes again. Granted some will and most likely already have voiced that they personally could care 2 f@cks less about the option to change servers.

Is it really about personal opinion at this point?

How about the issue of these types of oversights being common place nearly every step of this MMOs existence?

... Oh well things always get better eventually, right?... Right?

P.S. Everyone still playing ffxiv (myself included obviously) is knowingly or unknowingly daily practicing a well known spiritual concept called "Faith" by some and "Hope" by others :3
