World Transfer Applications Begin (03/01/2012)

I'm really hoping this server crap clears up soon. I was really hoping to switch to Masamune to play with some IRL friends I have on that server. but I was disappointed to find it, and pretty much every other server completely full within the first DAY... so yeah I'm just waiting to see if this madness clears up.

Not even the first day - the first MINUTE. I stayed up to be able to transfer to Balmung, and at 3:01 AM four servers already showed an X. The others went down quickly after.

I'm a new player, so I had no part in this option whining everyone seems to be talking about. Initially I hadn't realized Besaid was the unofficial RP server, so now unless the servers open up later (which seems unlikely), I'm stuck with a server I don't feel comfortable in...or forced to reroll on Besaid.

Also, for those quoting SE and claiming they spelled it out for us: "very soon after" is a bit of an understatement, don't you think?

@Liliya Whats funny about that, is my main character(s) are on Besaid currently, so if Masamune ever opens up again some spots on Besaid should as well. but, where you do have a new character it should be pretty easy to just simply re-roll on Besaid. Whereas thats where me and myIRL friends are going to have problems unless we can all go to the same server. We can't easily reroll since we have a couple of level 50s as it is

If you are a new player, why don't you just reroll on Besaid? Then you will end up on Balmung. It's not like you have much to lose at this point that you couldn't gain again in the span of 2 days.

Two days, you say?! Haha. It may be that easy for you, but I only have one friend who plays and it's taken me about two and a half weeks to get to this point. (Don't laugh!) I suppose it would go faster now that I actually know what I'm doing, and of course since the Besaid community seems to be infinitely more helpful than Mysidia's, but the thought of rerolling makes me want to cry.

That being said, I actually got into Aegis so I have no idea how it's going to turn out; it could end up having a great community, or become a clusterf*ck of pissed off Balmung/Sargatanas/Masamune/etc rejects.

I'm just disappointed it was full from the start and now I can't hang out with all you Balmungians... Balmungers? ...whatever. It also sucks that some people want off the RP server but have nowhere to go now since they simply don't want to risk being stuck on The Rag.

I think they were X from the beginning. They were closed 1 minute before it should've opened anyway. Yes, the transfer was open a minute before it's time.

Even if I don't sign up for any server transfer I would be able to move to the server which is merging into automatically? would appreciate if one of the staff can answer this one, thanks.

Yes, in this page (link) we displayed how the server merges are going to be and if you are OK with that merge you don't have to do anything.

何も操作しなければ、3月27日に予定しているワールド合併メンテナンス時に、「新ワールド」欄に記載されているワールドに自動的に合併されます。
If nothing is done; after 3/27's planned world transfer you will automatically moved to the listed new world.

当初提示させていただいた案では「全員操作が必要」でした。その後皆さんからのフィードバック等を踏まえ、今回の統合組み合わせのデフォルトを用意する合併方式へと変更しています。
Original plan required every player to take part but after receiving everyone's feedbacks we changed the method and prepared the default world for the merge

今回移転受付を開始の時点で「×」だったり「△」スタートだったりというワールドが並んだという点に違和感を覚えられた方がいらっしゃるのも、この差による ところが大きいと考えられます。当初の方式でいけば全ワールド「○」スタートとなるものですが、最終的に決定した方式では、新ワールドにキャラクターが最 初からいる状態からのスタートとなりますので、状況に応じて△だったり×だったりのスタートになります。
You may of felt awkward when the server transfer started it already showed X or (triangle) for some worlds. With original plan it would of started with all (Circle) but with decided method the characters are already going to be in the new worlds already at start so in situation it could end up with (triangle) or X

I think this further satisifies my arguement that it is broken, because if they are saying "if people move out then it will change", then why is there any max X to begin with, if people been moving out already, even if someone fills that spot they left somewhere, whos filling that spot, and so on.

Don't think its broken it basically says with some servers when they merge together some may be full @ that point from the merge, so the servers will only open up slots after someone moves from the server.

It does not validate your argument that the merge is broken. People asked for this merger type. SE went in knowing how many people they wanted per server. With the groupings they made, it was safe to assume, or rather, we as the players should have KNOWN, that the populations were ideal, according to SE. Thus, the servers would mostly be FULL or almost full and needing only slight additions. I think the community didn't realize how many people from Ridill wanted out, and that server filled up the others (remember Selbina was the highest populated server).
