Yell chat in RP is rude, and forces others to be engaged in that RP without permission.
No we do not want to just mute it. Yell chat is quite useful at times.

Rude? As deigned by whom? Forcing people? What?
First you just said RP. You didn't specify ERP. You also moved the goal post by calling it cringe, when I thought the first and primary problem was having someone forced into it, which in itself is impossible when you can just blacklist.
if you don't like it, blacklist them.
your post is unworthy.
*yells in chat* "I'm going to throw rocks at everyone who doesn't like me yelling!"
Typically performance RPers will use yell chat to differentiate between the performance and other RP. Recently there have been groups wanting to RP in the major cities since there are occasional stages set up there. Since Ul'dah, in particular, is a city known for using shout chat for cringy garbage shouting that forces others to listen to dumb conversations about nothing, there is no other way to differentiate between the performance and typical quicksand nonsense. How then would we solve for the issue of a fun community event being best enjoyed in a public space without using yell?
The ignore/blacklist function is your friend. It's a lot easier and infinitely more effective than posting a complaint on the winds of the forums hoping it somehow changes people's behavior.
Just because you don't like the content of the yell chat, doesn't mean you get to dictate who should use it and what it should be used for.
We all play this game together so you're going to have to accept the fact that not everyone is going to do things they way you like, but if no one is getting hurt and it's slightly annoying to you, deal with it and move on.
