Just now I literally bought something and the option for CC was there for me. It tried to get me to log into the steam wallet several times but after a few "cancel" and try again it got the message that I wanted to pay with CC. Have you paid with CC before in the mogstation? My account is ages old from right back at the start of ARR when the steam wallet literally didn't exist. Perhaps newer steam accounts just don't allow for the option at all.
Yep, literally did it last week. I'll try what you did and cancel and try again a few times and see if it changes anything.Just now I literally bought something and the option for CC was there for me. I've tried both. Same situation. I've also tried what you said and canceled like 15 times and nothing changed. I guess I'll have to file a ticket or something. At least it's good to know it wasn't a decision they made with this change and it's just that my store seems to be bugged out? Who knows...
The only other thing I can think of is that it is restricted to certain countries. I'm in Australia and I buy through the EU store. It's possible the EU has laws to prevent single payment options.I've tried both. Same situation. I've also tried what you said and canceled like 15 times and nothing changed. For all we know the bug is on my end :S I refuse to pay with Steam Wallet. If that's the way the game is going I'll just stop buying mogstation items, if they stretch it to the sub I'll just stop playing since clearly SE won't want my money.
What's wrong with the steam client? I'm on console so everything is easy and one stop shop, so I have no idea what you PC users are going though. Mind explaining so I can understand please? The only other thing I can think of is that it is restricted to certain countries. I'm in Australia and I buy through the EU store. Thats Probably the one of the bigger parts of the problem that needs fixing. Unless they consider doing something like let you transfer your character(s) to a different service account. You don't understand - they are changing it to require you to login via Steam. For now we don't have to do that, but when they change it in less than a month we will no longer be able to do that. We also cannot currently add a PC key to an account that already has a Steam key - I've tried.
I'm actually really curious about what causes this. Part of why I stopped using Steam in the first place was that my old laptop was having performance issues that seemed to get better when I stopped running Steam and FF at the same time. Its biggest problem was that that laptop was overheating *constantly,* so yeah something was definitely wrong, but it seemed to run less slow and crash less often when I wasn't running Steam.Seriously?
Something is VERY wrong with your system if you are getting crashes and tanked FPS through steam. Overlay may be buggy (disable it) but FPS should be unaffected because steam uses essentially -0- resources in terms of CPU or GPU. Only thing it uses is around 100MB of RAM.
If my system was unstable as yours, I'd consider doing a clean Windows install.
My PC is much better now, so in theory that shouldn't happen, but it's part of why I was apprehensive about this whole thing to start with.
The system might be fine it can be any number of things that cause issues. even the overlay.Seriously?

it's an incredibly common problem for both steam and windows 10 where overlays cause absolutely huge performance drops on slightly older hardware components.
for steam there's generally 2 fixes. 1 uninstall your geforce drivers and roll it alllllll the way back to like 382.05 i think it is. or 2 lauch the games outside of steam so the overlay doesn't cause problems.
even non steam users have had the problems with slightly older components and newer windows 10 builds. the creators update was notorious bad for it where again users generally had 2 options. 1 was go back to the old 382.05 geforce drivers that ddint support or have overlays. or 2. go back to an earlier windows build and hack the registry to block windows update.
or option 3 fork out and buy newer hardware which you wouldn't actually need if the software folks fixed there damned bugs
