question about current armour

Can’t understand what some armour favours....

Dated Bronze Chainmail
Level 12 Favours GLD, ARC, ARM, GSM, ALC, BTN
DEF 25, HP +22, STR +2

Why can't that armour be for Marauder or Lancer?

If my Marauder equipped it, would there be any penalty?

Yes, there would be a big stat penalty for equipping it on a class that it does not favor.

its dated, its the old system. penalty's weren't as bad before. the gear is slowly being worked out of the system.

Assume that any gear maked Dated will not be in 2.0.

This, and sometimes it's easier to carry just one (or a few) set of gear for your various classes rather than gear them separately at every 5 levels

Unless you have a damn good reason, you should never be using dated gear. The newer stuff generally has better stats, is more fair when it comes to classes that can use it, and can use materia.
